.....watch the "THE SHIELD" ? if so, has anyone watched the newest episode out today? cos i think that was possibly the most gripping, amazing,sickening, fcuking brilliant piece of tv ive ever seen. i watched it 10 mins ago and im still sitting open-mouthed at it.


1 more episode left in the greatest tv show ever made imo, and it could still go anyway and anything could still happen.

Victor Samuel Mackie, yup, thats him (although it took right up till the penultimate episode to learn that was his real name :P ) i cant tell you just how good it is. forrest whittaker, glenn close, and numerous other big names were all in this series, its the last episode of the last series next week, and i might shit my pants watching it if im honest.

AND it pales in comparison to Dexter (and yes I based that on absolutely nothing).

agreed, supernatural is great. especially the latest series, but the shield ,i think, is a 100 times better .

don't be silly man don't be silly. the wires storylines, slow build up and character development is a joy to behold. It is such a gritty hard edge yet subtle programme that it is quite possibly the ebst thing to have come out of america. this is down in no small part to the fact that they use real locations to shoot and alot of their characters were played by real drug dealers and real ex-junkies. The realism of the show reaches such a height that it surfaced that drug dealers were using it to gain tips on how to evade being caught out by the police.

the wire is by far and away the greatest cop show ever. It's ability to make you feel an equal amount of empathy and disdain for the "badguys" is truly remarkable.

no programme tells the full story quite like the wire.

lol. opinions from two guys on two different shows, will never change. i agree, the wire is class, and ive watched them all, brilliant stuff. but to me, the acting and storylines in the shield, and just because vic is just the best bad guy EVER in a tv show, the violence + realism , alongside some of the best acting ive seen in ages , in anything, makes it my favourite show, and i cant change that, even if i wanted to! :D
