I'd go for the laptop tho
why is better?
i'd look for g50v with t9400, got that one and it's awesome
oh and it also has 2 hdds, beasty probably got mistaken
which one has the better performance at all?
Intel Core 2 Duo T9400 2x 2.53 GHz + NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT - 512mb
vs.
Intel Core 2 Duo P8600 2x 2.40GHz + NVIDIA GeForce 9700M GT 512MB
i think would be a better question :P
hm
vs.
Intel Core 2 Duo P8600 2x 2.40GHz + NVIDIA GeForce 9700M GT 512MB
true that ! :P
Theyre pretty equal...atleast when you compare cpu/gpu... but i'd still take it since it has a bigger display and 2 hdds.
1)that technology is pretty retarded and slow, may even cause some
2)512mb is MORE than enough for every application so you wont notice any perfomance boost while using 1024mb instead of 512mb, you may even get a perfomance loss coz of huge delays between GPU & system RAM and the fact that you will have 512mb less RAM
So if you have that shared memory option and 512mb of own gfx memory don't activate it imo.
man, that was an easy one.
WHy the HP ? As lavus said.. the question shouldbe :
Intel Core 2 Duo T9400 2x 2.53 GHz + NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT - 512mb + shared 320mb
vs.
Intel Core 2 Duo P8600 2x 2.40GHz + NVIDIA GeForce 9700M GT 512MB
I'm about to buy a gaming laptop myself so I've been sherlocking alot recent months, so g50V without any doubt.
Better graphics, screen,
EDiT: Shared memory wont give a shit... 9700 alot better than 9600. Screen resolution are almost the same but the asus is 15.4 and will look betterr.
You can clock the Asus with like 0.2 ghz extra with a simple push of a button.
Mini lcd Screen = greatness
IF YOU TAKE THE HP YOU'RE RETARDED <3
also found a alienware laptop:
intel core 2 duo 2,4 ghz
2gb ram
radeon hd 3850 (should be much better gfx than the g50v one)
for 1200€
hmmmm... gonan think tomorrow.. gn8 ;)
get the asus, better performances
Hmm true i could buy anither one on my own
ASUS G50 !!! :D
now i need to find out which one i should buy.
The only Links i could find until now:
http://geizhals.at/a364938.html
http://www.notebooksbilliger.de/product_info.php/notebooks/asus/gaming/asus_g50vas057c
but both aren´t find the T9400 CPU and only 1x 320GB ;(
I read that the hdd are the mostly one of the biggest performance-eater.And i´m not sure if you can really plug-in a 2nd one?
Propably i could buy it from nl/be/uk or somwehre in EU.. but dunnow how about varanty (wouldn´t care that much tbh)
Btw here in russia we also have the only configuration avaliable, but it's a bit better than there in austria: T9400;9700m GT;2x320GB 5400rpm HDD;4GB RAM;Blue-ray;Tv-tuner(+antenna, tv-remote);1680x1050 screen resolution;Backpack + mouse included. That had been probably the best configuration avaliable before the 9800gts version was announced. Though the price here starts from 1600euro ;o
The difference between them is GPU, the screen resolution, 1 more HDD and some additional stuff like bluray, tvtuner and probably those accessories(backpack etc. im not sure if you get them in austria). Yes, you always can change/add your HDD so that's not a problem. Screen resolution isn't a problem either since 1440x900 is imo the best resolution for a 15'' display, awesome in windows and everywhere else except for photo-editing software and 1080p HD movies where 1680x1050 is a bit better(your dad was probably talking about this, coz i didnt know that your g50v come with 1440x900,). Also you may buy external bluray&tvtuner(tbh i havent used any of them ;o) if you cant live without movies/tv, same goes for the backpack & other stuff. So the only irreplaceable difference is CPU, which as i have already said are almost the same. Btw p8600 has 25W TDP(t9400 has 35W) so it should run even cooler and save more battery life, while the perfomance difference is miserable. ;)
But ofc if you are a maniac you might order 9800gts+t9400+2x500GB HDD and run cod4&cod5 at constant 250fps but that would cost much more than 1200 euro ;p
watch my replay below :P

but from usa
that one is fucking nice :P
