the laptop
yep, the laptop
quite controversial
I'd go for the laptop tho
i'd take the laptop
not the laptop
what suliv said
you can use the laptop at school or university too
Hp.. but 3.5 kg is too much :<
true its fucking much.. but wouldnt care somehow..

why is better?
Parent
better cpu and hdd
Parent
but the graphic card isn´t that good? and the asus cpu is already so good that i thought it wouldn´t affect that much compared to the difference the gfx cards.. oh and abut hdd, there is a g50v with also 2 sata hdd´s and 600gb :P
Parent
the diference at gfx isnt that big.. rly..
Parent
okay thx :)
Parent
9700gt has ddr3, 9600gt has ddr2, the difference is 30-40% ;s
i'd look for g50v with t9400, got that one and it's awesome
oh and it also has 2 hdds, beasty probably got mistaken
Parent
alexL plays with a mouse that weighs 7,5kg
Parent
no worries, he is a bodybuilder
Parent
u got me there xD
Parent
yeh the laptop is good, go for it
I'd take the HP... better price/performance ratio IMO...
normally it costs the same.. i will get it for 900€ .. shouldn´t have told u the price ! :(

which one has the better performance at all?
Parent
they are very akin but with this price i would take the hp... furthermore he has blueray

Intel Core 2 Duo T9400 2x 2.53 GHz + NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT - 512mb

vs.

Intel Core 2 Duo P8600 2x 2.40GHz + NVIDIA GeForce 9700M GT 512MB

i think would be a better question :P

hm
Parent
Intel Core 2 Duo T9400 2x 2.53 GHz + NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT - 512mb + 512mb shared

vs.

Intel Core 2 Duo P8600 2x 2.40GHz + NVIDIA GeForce 9700M GT 512MB

true that ! :P
Parent
Well... since they almost got the same cpu-clocks you won't feel a big difference between them both... and since you got 4gig ram it also shouldnt affect you that the HP has shared memory...

Theyre pretty equal...atleast when you compare cpu/gpu... but i'd still take it since it has a bigger display and 2 hdds.
Parent
hmm in some tests the 9600GT seems to be much slowlier than the 9700GT .. and the 512mb shared which it got (so 1024mb @9600GT) won´t really help?
Parent
both gfx got 512mb of their own memory, shared memory is a possibility to add some of the RAM to gfx card memory, but:
1)that technology is pretty retarded and slow, may even cause some
2)512mb is MORE than enough for every application so you wont notice any perfomance boost while using 1024mb instead of 512mb, you may even get a perfomance loss coz of huge delays between GPU & system RAM and the fact that you will have 512mb less RAM
So if you have that shared memory option and 512mb of own gfx memory don't activate it imo.
Parent
take the one in the middle
here is a rock, asus... it's more expensive... obv.!

man, that was an easy one.
i wait with a new laptop until laptops are avi with core i7 cpu or core2quad :p
Parent
core2quad are available now
Parent
what about core i7?
Parent
not that i know of
Parent
then i keep waiting... i think :/
Parent
also isn't that only for desktops at this stage?
Parent
currently it is for sure... but i want to stick with a laptop. so i have to wait till it comes handy. :-)
Parent
that i would imagine is 12 months + away
Parent
ok, i'm fucked ;<
Parent
i have a dell xps laptop imo there the best price/performance laptops out there
KAAAAAAAAS <3
Parent
what up nigga
Parent
go with the HP although don't plan on using on batteries for long
ye battery is np for me.. i can charge them all the day long.
WHy the HP ? As lavus said.. the question shouldbe :

Intel Core 2 Duo T9400 2x 2.53 GHz + NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT - 512mb + shared 320mb

vs.

Intel Core 2 Duo P8600 2x 2.40GHz + NVIDIA GeForce 9700M GT 512MB
Parent
take HP Pavilion dv7 1050eg ;)
ASUS > HP eZ

I'm about to buy a gaming laptop myself so I've been sherlocking alot recent months, so g50V without any doubt.

Better graphics, screen,

EDiT: Shared memory wont give a shit... 9700 alot better than 9600. Screen resolution are almost the same but the asus is 15.4 and will look betterr.

You can clock the Asus with like 0.2 ghz extra with a simple push of a button.

Mini lcd Screen = greatness

IF YOU TAKE THE HP YOU'RE RETARDED <3
hmm honestly.. i also think so !
also found a alienware laptop:

intel core 2 duo 2,4 ghz
2gb ram
radeon hd 3850 (should be much better gfx than the g50v one)
for 1200€

hmmmm... gonan think tomorrow.. gn8 ;)
Parent
READ AGAIN, EDITED
Parent
dont buy alienware PC.. your paying just for the name..

get the asus, better performances
Parent
Beasty I've been using my XPS Gaming laptop for over 2 years now. I've recently invested in a laptop cooler. Only cost like £20 and it's awesome. Cut my CPU temperature by 20 degrees. Not so much of a big deal in the winter but in the summer when you're running a decent game, your laptop is like a radiator :(
Get a Burberry laptop, they're all the rage.
g50v with t9400 /o>
U maybe got a link for the one wizh 2hdds and stuff? Can only find the one i posted on jpurnal
Parent
hmmm, looks like you have only 1 configuration in austria (ASUS G50V-AS057C) :X
Parent
Ye lol somehow i always thjnk u r from belgium :x

Hmm true i could buy anither one on my own
Parent
Also dont have the T9400 cpu ;(
Parent
well, the difference isnt that big, both cpus are the top ones and they're fast enough for any game. And [good cpu + good gfx card] is way more balanced combo than [awesome cpu + so-so gfx card], so with g50v you will get more fps in any new game
Parent
okay i finally decided:
ASUS G50 !!! :D

now i need to find out which one i should buy.
The only Links i could find until now:

http://geizhals.at/a364938.html
http://www.notebooksbilliger.de/product_info.php/notebooks/asus/gaming/asus_g50vas057c

but both aren´t find the T9400 CPU and only 1x 320GB ;(
I read that the hdd are the mostly one of the biggest performance-eater.And i´m not sure if you can really plug-in a 2nd one?

Propably i could buy it from nl/be/uk or somwehre in EU.. but dunnow how about varanty (wouldn´t care that much tbh)
Parent
asus warranty is worldwide so you may RMA your notebook in any country in the world.
Btw here in russia we also have the only configuration avaliable, but it's a bit better than there in austria: T9400;9700m GT;2x320GB 5400rpm HDD;4GB RAM;Blue-ray;Tv-tuner(+antenna, tv-remote);1680x1050 screen resolution;Backpack + mouse included. That had been probably the best configuration avaliable before the 9800gts version was announced. Though the price here starts from 1600euro ;o
The difference between them is GPU, the screen resolution, 1 more HDD and some additional stuff like bluray, tvtuner and probably those accessories(backpack etc. im not sure if you get them in austria). Yes, you always can change/add your HDD so that's not a problem. Screen resolution isn't a problem either since 1440x900 is imo the best resolution for a 15'' display, awesome in windows and everywhere else except for photo-editing software and 1080p HD movies where 1680x1050 is a bit better(your dad was probably talking about this, coz i didnt know that your g50v come with 1440x900,). Also you may buy external bluray&tvtuner(tbh i havent used any of them ;o) if you cant live without movies/tv, same goes for the backpack & other stuff. So the only irreplaceable difference is CPU, which as i have already said are almost the same. Btw p8600 has 25W TDP(t9400 has 35W) so it should run even cooler and save more battery life, while the perfomance difference is miserable. ;)

But ofc if you are a maniac you might order 9800gts+t9400+2x500GB HDD and run cod4&cod5 at constant 250fps but that would cost much more than 1200 euro ;p
Parent
in usa you get it for 1200€ !
watch my replay below :P
Parent
well, i told you everything you need, so now it's your choice to buy it in Austria or to order from USA, gl hf ;)
Parent
yup.. u helped me rly alot :O .. thanks 1000 times again :P
Parent
lool i found one for 1200€ with 9800GS 512 MB :OO

http://www.agearnotebooks.com/asusg50vt-a1.html

but from usa

that one is fucking nice :P
Parent
anyway you always can buy & put 2nd HDD in it
Parent
