meGui dramas

Attempted to copy aGon's encode settings and its failing hard (crap quality). The only thing I can think of is that my version of meGui is slightly different.

why wouldyou use 4000 bitrate to encode 720p file? its a shitquality hard fail by definition

I didn't mention I was or wasn't encoding a 720p file, are you assuming this?

^ that and other test clips i've made in the past worked ok, now with a new pc they dont. Figured aGon's settings would be better quality etc.

i also tried shaolin production oldschool settings and they didnt work either, my install of megui is j00'd.

orly? :x my vdub/post after effects avi is fine (has awesome quality). oh i think i remember now, something to do with after effects colour export...

still you need to test that @ 5000 bitrate or sth :<

the file looks fine, its morelike the framerate is fucked up, add some motion blur

In small files decrease the number of B frames to a low value like 4. The quality improves gradually then

well i dno how often i have to say that again and again and again. x264 profiles dont work for every movie the same. Also the codec is not only about the bitrate, there a 1021231 other settings that really improve quality. I for example use 3800 for my HD encodes...

Try understanding how this codec works and youll have np to adjust it to your very own vids.

The latest megui has info balloons for most options, trust me I've tried micro adjusting most settings before posting here. Its just a bit retarded that you cant use settings that worked previously.

to be honest with you :( i never read those popups. But you can do lots of awesome stuff with custom or self made matrices. Also quantiziers and all the zone stuff keeps your movie at high quality. Esp in et where you dont have lots of colors to compress.

i have the same problem. Whole thing was working fine few weeks ago before i reinstalled everything :< half of that meGUI options are missing now, but prolly just cuz i forgot some codec
