going to london with my gf between xmas and new years eve. we are living at a hotel pretty central and i have some questions to the people from london (i think there are some).
wich clubs/bars are worth a visit? wich ones aren't?
what is the legal age to buy alcohol in shops etc in england?
any interesting cultural stuff worth seeing? we aren't interested in the usual tourist stuff
are the buses/underground etc cheap?
we are also planning to go to manchester for a day or so, is there any cheap trains going there from london?
thanks

well except gamers brits
they are to busy with games that they dont have time to eat D:
etc
#2 18
#3 depends what you like
#4 yeah
#5 fucking dont go there
#2 nice
#3 music, art
thank you
#3 all the museums are free afaik
#3 that is nice
And yes, I think they're free.
anyway, is it possible to buy alcohol (wines, beer with more % than 2,8 etc) in local shops? or is it like in sweden, where you only can buy alcohol in special shops and you have to be 20?
Also, since the clubs' age-limit isn't a legal requirement if it's more than 18, they sometimes don't look too close if you're a couple or a group with a few girls. Groups of guys will have trouble, though.
srsly
thanks, the same to you m8
they should hang the fucker who stole it
it's a fucking shame that shit like that happens.

ahaha nice joke they are badass expensive ~.~
Save some money and time, goto Birmingham and the Bullring. It's better then Manchester
they probably do have everything you want in london. all i can say is manchester probably isn't as busy, and the people tend to be nicer the further north you go ;D
"The report also found that 80% of people in the North said they spoke to their neighbours regularly, compared with 63% of Londoners."
I may be wrong here, but in the North you've probably had the same neighbours for 20 years, which is unlikely in London. That explains the statistic.
Contrary to a number of the other comments Manchester is actually really nice. It's not too big, but it's not too small either. If you're only spending a day then you can see a lot since the train station is near the city centre. Whereas the universities are slightly further up Oxford Road.
!!!
What kind of music etc would you want to see in London, or rather, what kind of clubs?
Since you'll be there for NYE a lot of people will be going to Moondance
More info about various bars can be found here
18 for alcoholz but be prepared to show your ID because they're implying an over 21 rule now, where they ask anyone under 21 to prove their age.
There are plenty of museums to check out, and it all depends on what you want to visit, e.g. the natural history museum or national gallery and Tate Modern for more art work.
Could always check out Madame Tussauds which is always fun.
Despite some peoples comments, I love Camden. Nice little place to visit, and you've the market area (that caught fire LOl) and plenty of world foods to check out.
Tubes are cheap enough to travel around on.
Plenty to do on the south bank aswell.
See evan's reply about Manchester
Visit London will cover a lot of stuff too, but I could try help out a little more if you narrowed shit down to what you'd like to see/do :{
as for the music i mostly enjoy clubs/bars that plays goth, indie, post-punk and new wave music. there are a few of those clubs in stockholm so i think there are some in london. i enjoy some electronic music aswell.
thanks for the links mate, ill look at it with my gf when i get back to sweden!
