Linux distribution

Hi,
since PB sucks donkeyballs I want to switch to linux to avoid those retarded lags.

So mainly I would love to know which distr. is the best for gaming.
I tried allready Unbuntu, but back than I were 16 and had no clue about the stuff at all.

A matter of taste really, I use GNOME.. But then again, I'm not using ubuntu :D
A lot of things have happened in 2 years with ubuntu btw, so if you tried it when you were 16 i doubt the experience will be the same if you try a recent version now :)

Do I need some special driver for my mobo? Since I barley found any drivers for linux for any motherboard :c

The mobo drivers are included in the kernel.. Drivers on linux don't work like in windows. Almost all drivers you'll need is included with the kernel, except for graphic card drivers which are often proprietary and need to be installed afterwards. Ubuntu has a nice system for it though.

So the answer is no, you do not need to worry about mobo drivers (unless you have a really weirdo mobo)

my fist trying was knpoppix v7.0 (if i'm right) ahahah but i wasnt able to start internet drivers :D

I remember making my own USB-stick-version of knoppix so i could use it at schoolpcs and avoid all the stupid lockdowns :D

i recentl installed ubuntu 8.1 and its very very nice,

i uninstalled it because of sound problems (i managed to get sound working in aplications but only one aplication at time, which means i could only have sound either in ts or ingame not both)
