Linux help :D:D:DD

yo,

I just installed ubuntu 8.1
But now I cant get into the Internet, since my wlan stick isnt recognized.
I know that I need ndiswrapper.

I cant download packets, so I need them in .deb files
Where can I get the drivers?
How to install & setup the wrapper correctly D:

TIA

fail reinstall unbuntu

install windoof = win
Didnt do anything yet in unbuntu, so reinstalling is really much pointless at this point and Iam writing from my windows partion.

You don't necessarily need ndiswrapper. What wlan stick do you have?
Devolo WLAN USB Stick

Open network-manager (click the pc-icon in your toolbar) and it should say something like "Wireless USB: Settings" under auto eth0...

or is the stick not showing at all, what does lsusb say?
I dont really understand what you mean but Ill try in 20 minutes

Left-click the one circled in red and choose the option that says something about wireless

if there's no option for wireless, copypaste what command lsusb says in terminal
alt+f2
terminal
lsusb

copypasta with ctrl+shift+c
well, the other USB stick got recognized, it also says that iam corectly connected but the browser does not load any site
Parent
is it showing 4 bars instead of the pc picture, if it is, it should show the strength of the signals (if it is connected, if not, it's showing a pc with red dot)
Parent
50% 2/4 bars.

I read something about settings up a DNS server which I will try soon.
Someone said I have to get wlan0 out of the firewall settings, which I could not find :(
Parent
roflkartoffel, NERD-ALERT! omg xD
ndiswrapper should be included in ubuntu tbh...........

plus the newer kernels (which 8.1 has) supports LOTS and LOTS of wlan devices out of the box.

ubuntu is the noob friendly distro i dont see what could be a problem...
