Fov Change

Dno how to convert my fov to lan widescreen TFT :(

I'm using atm a 17 inch screen @ 1280 x 1024 resolution.
could somebody explain me what to enter @ http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/fovcalc.php so i can calculate the new fov (need 108fov & 90fov)

hmm i think it is:

90-100
108-118

but it can be wrong values ;[

Ohh Lazio ohh...

r_mode "-1"
r_customheight "1024"
r_customwidth "1280"

And you will need no fov changers.


Though, you will have blank bars on each side of the screen but I don't think it's a major problem. :-)

though yea, ur thing seems more logical :D


or use the cvars:

Quote r_mode "-1"
r_customheight "900"
r_customwidth "1440"
r_displayrefresh "75"
You probably want to this so everything doesnt look distorted. Fixing the resolution will somehow change the way your fov feels so a lot of people use this:

Just use the settings I mentioned.

I used those very same settings at CDC3 and worked well for me.

Playing with a widescreen monitor when being used to a 4:3 feels simply horrible. Trust me :l

what happens if you use r mode 6 on 22 inch screen?

As far as I know r_mode 6 = 1024x768.

So simply use r_mode "-1" with those custom values and you should have the same aspect ratio, which, in this case is the most important thing. :p

Having an LCD doens't mean you have to start to playing with the native resolution.

I use it and works fine :)

I had a 17" CTR - r_mode 6
Now I have 22" LCD - r_mode 6
Still using fov 110 :)

I have the C version of that screen and doing that doesnt give you black bars on the sides.

plug&pown -> works great for me : )
