Internet probs

hi2u all.

Ive got a huge problem, since my internet is extremly slow for the last couple of weeks (2 week tbh) It takes like 30 min to load a youtube movie.... I just called to chello (my provider), but they cant help it :(

Im not downloading anything, only surfing on the internets.

Any1 got help for me

EDIT I cant change provider, since my Im still living with my parents. Every comp in this house has this problem, but still he doesnt wanna change, and its his money

it isnt wireless, it has a lot of extra "cabins" (dunno right word) in it, to get to my room. But still cable. Never had problems before (2 years or smthng), just started 2 weeks ago.

chello does not allow routers, unless you take their most expensive product. (around €80 a month for just internet...)

Ik wil mn internet alleen niet hacken ofso, ik wil gewoon weer normaal kunnen server, en niet 30 sec laadtime voor een crossfire-page. zoals het eerst was.

nee, dan is t macadres weer niet goed zeker... Je netwerkkaart heeft een uniek nummer, das je macadres, en als je die van de router registreert, dan kent ie je pc netwerkkaart dus niet.
Als je je router verwijderd, moet je opnieuw aanmelden. Aanmeld adres staat in je boekje btw.. Is gratis, maar neemt tijd...

ok, dat gaat mij iets te hoog. Gelukkig heb ik net mn ouders zo ver gekregen dat ik in het weekend nieuw internet mag gaan bestellen, zie dan wel of ik weer kies voor chello of naar ADSL ga.

Als je voor ADSL gaat, ga dan niet voor Tele2, ziggo Alice of andere vage prijsknallers. Lees maar eens op Tros radar hoe die met je omgaan als je problemen hebt, geld krijgt van hun enzo... Daar wil je niets mee van doen hebben.

KPN heeft mooi abonnementje voor ca. 30 Euro, das dan alleen internet (geen VoIp en draadloos internet) maar wel met 4 pc aansluitingen op de modem/router. Snelheid 6 MB ofzo.. Snel genoeg!

Zelf heb ik die van 50 euro, das met VoIp en draadloos alls extra op je multipc-modem (Experia box)

I HAVE CABLE INTERNET AND I HAVE A MODEM CONNECTED TO MY ROUTER CONNECTED TO MY PC AND IT POWNEZ MORE THAN ADSL

maybe he got a mongol modem which doesnt even work with routers? :D
that must be the problem then

ask for motorola modems
easy to crack, and perfect with routers

and 80euro per month is for tv+telephone+tv?

that €80 euro was just for internet at highest speed for regular customers. But this was couple of years ago :o

Now its way cheaper I think...

chello, theres your problem... It's called "fair use policy" . They dont reserve any speed/space or how do you call that... All the users get the same speed. So when it's busy, some hardcore peepz mangling the main cable, will give you a slow internet.

OR you have been hijacked, and your pc is used to spread naked posing children pics or smth.. or just spam...

performance is back to normal. It was a compensation for the !3 weeks! it took them to send me a new modem.

i also have cable internet
i recive modem for free from the company but the router i must buy private

so i bought linksys=best ^_^

they gave me thompson modem, which was awsome with routers
WAS cuz a lightning bolt stroke my house which fried my computer+modem+router :DDD
lucky me all were new so i got everything new back ^_^
but this time they gave me teryion modem which is not suppose to work with routers which gave me sucky settings and reset my router everytime i turned off my pc

so i called them and they gave me motorola modem :D
which is the best you an get and they dont give it to anyone but few ^_^

I have a power outlet strip with overvoltage suppression for my PC.
no problem with the lightning bolts anymore!

yea i also bought few nasty stuff for those
but it hit the electricity pole outside my house :'(
there was a huge explosion and a fire ball :D
anyway the power company are so heroes !
came at 1am in the middle of a blizzard storm to fix it
more few days they will shut down the power to imprive the lightning defences ;p

well i had the same problem as you and it was the modem which stopped working properly.
If they say everything is ok , check for virus/trojans

runned like 20 anti-spyware progs, guess i deleted it all already. And norton is installed against virusses. Besides, that wouldn't explain why it happens on 3 computers at the same time.

did that 2, still bad internet. But atm its running great, while 3 comps are online.... I dont get it anymore, but i can buy new inetz.
