Hiya
Earlier today I posted this:
http://www.crossfire.nu/?x=journal&mode=item&id=73725
Here is the current situation.
I have taken the motherboard out and I have got my spare 550w psu connected to it. I have taken everything off from my motherboard. The only thing left on it is cpu and heat sink.
So I have the motherboard on an anti static mat with the psu connected directly to it. I turn my pc on all the lights come on but there is a delay before the cpu fan kicks in, when it does kick in it seems to be going quite slow. Then a few seconds later it shuts down and trys to power up again. I have hit a brick wall now I need some more help!
Thanks again

m not sure what u actually tried to say...
but my guess: ich würde mich nicht trauen *
I didn't even notice the typo :D
I tried that as well, the guy from the shop told me (i was suspecting the power supply after the second board, see comment below :D)
"Bring all your components, so we can test them at once, what are the specs"
Me: "MSI mobo, 4 gb ram, Quad 9450, radeon 4870"
He: "Sorry, can't test that here, don't have such a strong power supply here"
me lolled :D
You don't need more then 400 watts for that system, but your PSU has to be a decent one and not a cheap ass one otherwise you'll need a 800 W or smth :D
low psu's don't have this, only the mid range once with high watt and the high psu's =)
watt is bullshit nowadays, it doesn't say anything about your psu
2 times 6 pin = graka
The mobo just didn't want to work with all the other components, just an other brand and it was fixed, was really weird
Maybe try an other brand aswell, or tell them to test it first, something like that
we need kipster back!!!
just to add, go to your mobo manual and find the bit on the 'front panel' and make sure that you have plugged that in correctly.
untill....
*INSERT COINS TO CONTINUE*
nah just kidding :)
99 % sure it's the RAM (incompatible / broken ram chip), atleast it was the ram that caused the trouble here, even though OCZ was on the list with "compatible with.." :)
btw, there's nothing wrong with your PSU, it's powerfull enough for that kind of hardware (~ 500-600 W), 1000 W = pure overkill :/
Plus I was running 7 120mm fans and 1 200mm fan. Two harddrives and 1 DVD drive
Then if they are not shorted place the cap on 2+3 as below.

are you getting any beeps, if not make sure that you have a pc speaker connected as the beeps are boot fail codes.
