Sennheiser HD 555 or SteelSound 5H v2

I don`t know which model is better. I had got SteelSound 5H v2 for two years.Now, I want to change something. I read about HD555 model. It is perfect for music(good bass etc), but dunno about games performance . Maybe someone has got it ? Thx for help :-(

A good music headphone will always be a good gaming headphone. Music is much more demanding than gaming.
And can people please stop buying headphones made by mousepad producers and start buying real headphones?

I've never tried SteelSeries, and I never will. A friend of mine had HD555 back in the days, awesome headphone.

like the mousepad experts made those headsets, pls they got other people for that so what ur saying is bullshit.

But I would also go for the sennheiser since sennheiser has just perfect sound quality for a normal price. I used the SS 5Hv2 once and they weren't bad either, but still the PC151 (same price) gave better sound quality.

I still doubt their sound expertise compared to Sennheiser, Beyerdynamic, AKG, Grado, etc... Those guys have years of experience and tons of experts in sound, dynamics, sound absortion, balancing, presicion, etc. There's no way a mousepad producer can suddenly top that (apart from doing what Qpad did, rebranding a Beyerdynamic headset).

But well, I'm extremely picky when it comes to sound, i have a 200€ Beyerdynamic headset plugged in a 200€ soundcard.

I like the HD555 a lot. They're not too heavy, enclose your ears and important for me: there's not too much pressure on my glasses.
The sound is really good (I can only compare it to Sennheiser PC150) with a nice bass. They're open headphones, so they don't muffle sounds. Neither those coming from the surroundings to your ears, nor those coming from the headphones (others can hear what you're listening to). Although they're stereo headphones I find it really easy to locate opponent's positions in games. The first day I had them I was so happy, because they added a whole new dimension of sound to music and games. The only thing I don't like is you can't feel the bass like you do with a good subwoofer. But for headphones it's still great.

Yes. They sound "fuller" (especially the bass) and are really comfortable to wear.

Absolutely Sennheiser. The quality of sound isn't even comparable. I just a pair of HD595 and they're awesome.

ive just got the steelseries, and they are very sharp sounding, alot better for gamimg, but not so gr8 for bass on music :)
