because christmas is not rly a christian thing, its older - most important "catholic" holidays are stolen from older religions (easter too)

Celebrating the birth of Christ, which christmas is about, is definately a christian thing. But of course christmas most probably isn't placed at the day Jesus was born, but to coincide with other celebrations (at around this time the vikings had their midwinter überdrinking-parties at least).
It doesn't change the fact that we're celebrating the birth of Christ, and saying that this celebration is stolen from other religions is quite bold to be honest.

well ye, I see that it can be celebrated whenever wanted, but it was too easy to steal the date. Thats why I said that christmas isnt a real christian thing. But the idea of giving little presents and spread some love in december is not only for christians, thats what I wanted to say - the idea is older :)

Yeah, THAT idea is older, and is also probably the reason why the celebration of christ being born is in december. Indeed it was easier to keep the old tradition but changing their content a little.
