Trev's Music Corner #9

Band Name: The View
Album Title: Which Bitch?
Year: 2009
Genre: indie rock
My Rating : 9/10

Last.fm View:
The View (Dryburgh, Scotland) have been active in the music scene since
early 2005, supporting more renowned acts including Babyshambles, Primal
Scream and The Undertones. The band initially based themselves at The
Bayview pub in the Menzieshill district of Dundee, not too far from their
native Dryburgh. From this pub, the band took their name. Shortly after
they moved to The Doghouse, a respected music venue in Dundee’s city centre,
where they came to the attention of local music promoters, management and
ever-growing fan-base. Currently signed to 1965 Records, the band’s debut
single, “Wasted Little DJs”, was released 7 August 2006. The single entered
the UK MTV/NME video charts on 9 July 2006 and climbed to top this chart the
same day it reached 15 in the UK singles chart on 13 August 2006. They have
recently released there first album, titled ‘Hats Off To The Buskers’ which
entered the UK album chart at #1 and is so far the biggest selling album of '07.

My Own View: Tired for big words. They are just good.

Band Name: Fake Problems
Album Title: Its Great To Be Alive
Year: 2009
Genre: indie rock / folk punk (?)
My Rating : 8/10

Last.fm View:
Fake Problems first documented their sound on the 2005 album Watching the
Bull Get the Matador, though it had some electronic undertones rather than
just the twangy country-folk-rock later releases would showcase further.

Originally planned as a solo outing for vocalist/guitarist Chris Farren,
Fake Problems hail from the Southern coastal vacation town of Naples, FL.
Occupying the space between alt-country, folk, and indie pop with an added
dose of punk D.I.Y.

My Own View: What a strange genre, but yeah, maybe this is
the best to categorize them... folk punk rock, fuck yeah! :)

Band Name: The Rifles
Album Title: The Great Escape
Year: 2009
Genre: indie rock
My Rating : 9/10

Last.fm View:
The Rifles (formed in 2004) are an English rock band from London, UK.
They are heavily influenced by The Clash, The Jam and 90s Britpop. Their
debut album "No Love Lost" was released on 17 July 2006. Their highest
charting single is 'Repeated Offender,' which reached #26.

My Own View: Another great release from a typical indie rock band.
Its just too good to miss, 'The Great Escape' is something very serious!

sure about the links are good or reliable. At least they are surely
not viruses. All look good.

The View are pretty shit.
based on their first album or on this new release?
Parent
1st album. Their style was boring, ordinary and nothing new. The singers voice is really annoying, too.
