MX518 or Deathadder, both work on Icemat.
Logitech MouseMan Dual Optical

best mouse logitech ever had .. shame they dont sell them anymore !
i played on icemat with logitechG5 and i liked it !:)
only real choices:

mx518
IME 3.0
Deathadder

i guess if you've used the mx518 it's best to stick with that, maybe somewhere does extended warranties. the ime3.0 isn't too dissimilar in shape.
i was using 518 but now i replaced it with an ikari even though it's not broken !!

stick to the mx518, no point changing if you are using one of the best gaming mouse out there :)
Deathadder sucks ;( ... polished plastics on the sides makes your hand sweat after a short period of time :x
My hand sweats with Mx but not at all with DeathAdder. And DA fits better on my hand than mx... took a couple weeks to get used to it but now I tried mx again and it felt horrible. Ofc it's only my hand I'm talking about so..

MX518 + Qpad CT
do NOT buy DA for Icemat, it works like a random-5-euros mice after a few months (only with Icemat, don't know why, but all people I know who were using DA + Icemat noticed the same thing as me)
strange, maybe because it have infrared sensor (3G)?
Parent
Maybe, I'm sure about one thing - DA is not a good choice for Icemat. Mine was working fine for about 9 months, after that I had to change my mousepad, but a friend of mine had the same problem just after 3 months...

Buy an Ikari. It works perfectly with an Icemat. I got both of them, nothing to complain about.
Icemat + mx510 = skillboost.
Icemat does not work for copperhead etc. My diamondback 3G does atm, dunno bout rest
buy a logitech mouse since you can reoder the mousefeet for free...
Wheel Mouse Optical FtW
i have ikari the engine is inconsistent(few minutes only hs, other few minutes no hiting(no its not the user))
i have m ie3.0 its fucking ownage with >=250Hz(due too 8bits datapath blabla)
i have mx518 u would only need glides to pwn as hell(ZEH MOUSE)
i have deathadder needs updated drivers so i dont use often

the mouse itself(+ the feel u have when holding it) as to pwn just by pluging it
I have a copperhead atm, if I would buy a new one, I would take a Diamondback 3G or a deathadder
And what's the reason behind that?
Parent
copperhead has a laser and those 2 other mices have got a better "optical blabla" or how you call that.. and they have kinda the same shape
Parent
mx518/ikari optical and deathadder are the best 3 mice avaliable atm imo. just choose the most suitable shape ;p

i may check them all 3 on icemat l8r, reply in an hour so i wont forget
any results?
Parent
later, busy atm

So i've just tried them all on a blue icemat
Deathadder is nice - top measured speed ~ 3m/s so it's almost impossible to skip with it. I haven't experienced the problem which chelmianin wrote coz my icemat is new and i don't use it, but that is rly possible ;o
Ikari optical is even better - top measured speed IS OVER 5m/s, moreover it's perfect control speed so there's zero negative acceleration. Couldn't make it skip moving it over the pad like crazy :D However this mouse is probably not the best choice coz of 1 very important problem: the buttons are VERY sensitive, they fucking press themselves if you pick your mouse up and then put it down, especially on hard pads like icemat. I have mouse3 binded as /kill and EVERY time i put my mouse down i selfkill :X same for mouse1 & mouse2. That's why i don't use it
mx518 - the skipping speed is about 2,3 m/s that's pretty high, but still this mouse is the most easily skipped out of these 3(that's only on Icemat, overall this mouse is the most difficult to skip with). Also i noticed that both mine mx518 which i tested are rly weird on most surfaces: when you move it to the right and then to the left with the same speed it very rarely comes to the same point :S the difference is small but still very noticeable. It's like the mousespeed to the right is a bit faster than to the left. However on some pads like everglide titan fnatic & qpad ct they both work like a charm :S Check yours pls and tell me, might be that it's only mine(although i dont think so) If your mouse doesn't have this problem the best mouse to buy is probably mx518 coz you're used to it.

stick to the mx518

ive been usin it for ages and its just epic imo :O)
I cannot tell you whether the Ikari works on icemats. But what I can tell is that, if at all, you should pick the version with a laser sensor because according to reviews the optical one just lacks all the features the laser has. Secondly, I experienced some problems with the mouse wheel which I accidentally hit every now and then (=> self kill).
Plus, the Ikari (Laser!) also didn't fit my hand perfectly.

So, better choose the Logitech G5. I've had it for some years now and although it might need improvements it's still one of the best mice out there.
