best mouse logitech ever had .. shame they dont sell them anymore !
mx518
IME 3.0
Deathadder
i guess if you've used the mx518 it's best to stick with that, maybe somewhere does extended warranties. the ime3.0 isn't too dissimilar in shape.
i have m ie3.0 its fucking ownage with >=250Hz(due too 8bits datapath blabla)
i have mx518 u would only need glides to pwn as hell(ZEH MOUSE)
i have deathadder needs updated drivers so i dont use often
the mouse itself(+ the feel u have when holding it) as to pwn just by pluging it
i may check them all 3 on icemat l8r, reply in an hour so i wont forget
Deathadder is nice - top measured speed ~ 3m/s so it's almost impossible to skip with it. I haven't experienced the problem which chelmianin wrote coz my icemat is new and i don't use it, but that is rly possible ;o
Ikari optical is even better - top measured speed IS OVER 5m/s, moreover it's perfect control speed so there's zero negative acceleration. Couldn't make it skip moving it over the pad like crazy :D However this mouse is probably not the best choice coz of 1 very important problem: the buttons are VERY sensitive, they fucking press themselves if you pick your mouse up and then put it down, especially on hard pads like icemat. I have mouse3 binded as /kill and EVERY time i put my mouse down i selfkill :X same for mouse1 & mouse2. That's why i don't use it
mx518 - the skipping speed is about 2,3 m/s that's pretty high, but still this mouse is the most easily skipped out of these 3(that's only on Icemat, overall this mouse is the most difficult to skip with). Also i noticed that both mine mx518 which i tested are rly weird on most surfaces: when you move it to the right and then to the left with the same speed it very rarely comes to the same point :S the difference is small but still very noticeable. It's like the mousespeed to the right is a bit faster than to the left. However on some pads like everglide titan fnatic & qpad ct they both work like a charm :S Check yours pls and tell me, might be that it's only mine(although i dont think so) If your mouse doesn't have this problem the best mouse to buy is probably mx518 coz you're used to it.
ive been usin it for ages and its just epic imo :O)
Plus, the Ikari (Laser!) also didn't fit my hand perfectly.
So, better choose the Logitech G5. I've had it for some years now and although it might need improvements it's still one of the best mice out there.
