care? I learned it on 150 digits, its easy.. and he has megaubermegabrain so np for him.. and if you will say "its useless" its just because its because of you cant learn it :D
Yeah. I learned it like 1/2 year ago and one month ago I tested myself, I found i remember just around 75 so I repeated that (took just few minutes) and I am back in
it really isnt hard. try it on your own. if you bet with anyone, it makes everything easier :D
in the beggining you will have little problems, later you will bash it easy. better way how to learn it ( me and also my brother used it for this ) is learning 10 digits in row ( order of 10 ) and than adding it to these we already knew
I went to a memo seminar before christmas, held by one of the worlds best memo-guys(whatever you call them).. He even made some really dumb blonde chick remember pi to 1000 places in 24 hours. He said it was smart to use other associations, and routes. E.g. i think of a route in my room, and there's a thing representing what i'm remembering in the room. He used remembering the worlds ten largest nations as an example:
Outside my door there's a "russ"(norwegian tradition thing). That reminds me of Russia.
When I come in there's a duck running around in the hallway. That's Canada.
In the staircase, there's Mickey Mouse. That's USA.
In the next staircase, there's a kangaroo. Australia... etc.
You can do the same for numbers:
1 looks like a cock (there's a cock in my room, wat)
2 looks like a swan
3 looks like some handcuffs, or an ass
4 looks like a sailboat
5 looks like Captain Hook's hook
6 looks like a foster
7 looks like a pickaxe
8 looks like Angelina Jolie
9 looks like a club
0 looks like a ball
There you go. You can also assign actions to them, so you can remember two things at once.. E.g. a number and something, which makes up a year. I decide that my livingroom is going to be the span 1940-1949, and then I imagine Hitler killing himself with Captain Hook's hook. That means, the war ended in 1945.
The thing is, when you use this way to remember stuff you use your long-term memory (i already know the route in my house), plus associations make it stronger, because you can relate it to something.. Gonna try it next exams!
I heard about this method and I tried it, but I failed. It doesnt work for me, probably I am doing something wrong. On the other side, I dont have any problems with learning anything :)
the video is about daniel tammet however and not about kim peek. so you were right from the start :P however, kim peek = rain man and daniel tammet is from the brainman documentary :)
i'm almost done watching now only the icelandic language test still to come but so far it's been really fascinating, i've never even heard of this guy before. It was also cool how they included the other savants to the doc.
its just a weird failfunction in his brain so what ? do you think albinos are awesome or siamese twins ? and did you just call his "mental deficiency" entertainment ?
I just asked you what is awesome for you. not that IT is awesome.
albins are something different. this is about brain. its like anyone would be able to rise 1 ton dumbell. you would be interested surely
So an absolutely unique insight into something humans know very little of - the brain - isnt something to pay attention to? Go play a game or something.
it's amazing what the brain is able to do..if his brain is at like 50% my brain is like 0.01% :D
but however i think nobody would like to change with him
because of sociopathic? mmm.. i'd change probably..
was it told there that his brain is @ 50%? he is able to do such things just because of some centres in his head was forced together imo
yes those people are total "retards" in everydays life, they are totally dependent and that stuff.. and what do you what with such a superbrain when you cant handle the things a man is born to do.but i dunno what % his brain works at but if his is at only 50% mine would be like..in maths :D
I dont think his brain use much more % than yours. It just works in another way. This guy is retarded, but not as much as others.. this one can clean his teeth alone etc :D
he's not retarded at all.
there are connections between regions in his brain which a usual person doesn't have.
normal autists lack the connections a usual person has so they are intelligent in one field and 'retarded' in all the others.
yes,i read it around one year ago. it has to be terrible. i dont want to remember everything (btw. she didnt remember EVERYTHING but just what happend to her).. but its apparent on it, how great brain is, and how we teorically in future can get better
The real rainman is Kim Peek: http://pl.youtube.com/watch?v=k2T45r5G3kA
(the one who remembers all postal codes & every street in every city in US, a day of the week in last hundred year or sth, and all historogical stuff like that).
And btw, as for human calculator: Rudiger Gann (I'm not sure how his surname is spelled exactly) is better - he calculates faster, and I found that vid more interesting when watching tbh: http://pl.youtube.com/watch?v=NUsD2V6ijyQ (he calculates 87^12 in a blink of an eye, can speak backwardly etc). And finally they found out he's not really a savant.
yeah, Kim Peek is really the one, who inspired the film with rainman.
but he is absolutely depended on his father and cant do anything alone.
on the other hand, his style of reading book is just incredible. each eye reading another page.. an he remember around 91% of every book he have read if I remember right.
ye, I found it extremelemy amazing too. It's still not worth the price he paid for it, but somehow amazing if we think about human brain in that context :>
yeah, I wouldnt change too. I would lost all my life. But I think there can be some.. compromise.. there has to be some way how to have normal life + uberbrain
and weird? it was bet with my brother.. and on it you can see what your brain can do..
Seems like you dont have any decent entertaiment in your developing country if you have to do that shit XD
I learned to 34 digits some years ago, still remember them
in the beggining you will have little problems, later you will bash it easy. better way how to learn it ( me and also my brother used it for this ) is learning 10 digits in row ( order of 10 ) and than adding it to these we already knew
But should do more maybe..

why do you think its vicious?
nerd - a person who knows everything about something, e.g math
now you made a fag out of yourself
p.s im not a jew, x2 fail
so sorry anyway..
been there :<
*edit* naaah dont be haten :**
+10 wins for you
now he can participate in a geek show \o/ awesome.

still need the song @ 5.02. come on music experts, don't let me down :[
he was even able to explain how he remembers things and sees stuff
need the name of the song starting @ 5.02
(the one who remembers all postal codes & every street in every city in US, a day of the week in last hundred year or sth, and all historogical stuff like that).
