My monitor is pumping out a massive 60hz refresh rate. (Will not change monitor, am using a gaming laptop, have done for years, not going to change)
What other settings should I be using, if any, to make the most of this? I've seen various settings posted to link your maxpackets, resolution and maxfps with refresh rate.

id go for 76 or maybe 60
It also has a massive effect on your mouse input, whether you see those frames or not you can definitely feel the difference
+ you can experiment with the com_fps, but i suggest 60 as it feels the smoothest to me
I think it's pretty much standard after that
i tried playing maxfps 76 once but it felt like shit compared to 125, i don't understand how people can say it's better... maybe I'm too used to it but mouse input feels a lot better at 125
A 4:3 resolution will simply give you a greater vertical fov. Combining this with 100 fov makes it look more like 90 fov on a 4:3 aspect ratio.
16:10
The horizontal fov is the same if you stretch it however the vertical fov is increased.
Edit : screenshots done with etmain, hence the big head..
More modern games do this automatically, even Q3 engine games like CoD2.
ET doesn't... which is why you change the fov when you play in widescreen.
it's still incorrect though
If you're talking about aspect ratio then I agree. Do you really care if you are shooting at circles or ellipses?
dunno I just don't like it, preference as i said
