google chrome again

You surely heard about google chrome, and remember the flame about our privacy it begun. But you also remember it was open source, right? I today found out that somebody already made a fork of it with some of it "suspicious" options disabled, such as google updater, client-id, timestamp of installation and so on: http://www.srware.net/en/software_srware_iron_chrome_vs_iron.php and thought I would share that with those of you who haven't seen that. The funny part is... they even added adblock to the newest version which blocks google ads... Google can really feel self fucked now! :)

I found it out because chrome didn't want to get installed after I once uninstalled it "unconventionally" :)

I like chrome for it's speed, I'm still using firefox but sometimes if I want to check something while in-game or just click a link from a comm, chrome is better as I don't have to wait. I'm not THAT afraid of google taking the control over the world, but if I can get rid of some of the unwanted things in their software then sure, why not :)

as for now, "chrome didn't want to install" means like chrome is a subject. its not true as its you who wanted to get object (chrome) installed :) so you need to use a passive (edit) voice (/edit) here.

Ever since I started using Chrome it has only seemed to get better and Firefox has only seemed to get slower :s

FF2 was absolutely fucking terrible. It's one of the biggest on-going jokes of the tech community... A lot of people in the tech community actually stayed on 1.5 until the 3.0 nightlies were stable.

I've got no idea what you are talking about.... some webpages that used to take 30 seconds to render and slow down my entire computer in the process now take mere milliseconds.

I've installed it several times on both Vista & Xp & I get the same issues repeatedly. IT frequently (few times a day) & randomly freezes & every time I close it I get "FF has stopped working & will shut down, error unknown"

Well, but there are still many important plugins and stuff like that that makes chrome/iron unsuitable for a main browser for me. But it is a good base to make something good, if they will continue the project.

The only problem I have with it is when I drag the browser from my (default) CRT monitor (800x600) to my LCD (1280x1024) and I maximise it stays at 800x600 and doesn't fill the screen.

Firefox, though, now takes a good 20-30 seconds to open which is really annoying. Maybe today I will search for a fix for the Chrome problem :XD

well, chome was fine n stuff, but that just wasnt enough for me to switch from FF :o
