virtual memory.

since i got back on my "new" pc , i installed et and other crep . the problem is when i run et , it works perfect ,but when i /quit , then windows is starting to bitch and will crash completely due to low virtual memory , so im asking , how much i should increase it ?

Should be around 2 x the amount of your RAM. And do the same same settings for initial and maximum, then it won´t be much fragmented. Recommended is also another hdd than your windows installation is on.

Yes, but I don´t think it will solve your problem tbh.
Maybe you have com_hunkmegs at a too high value for 896MB RAM?

had seta com_hunkMegs "224" with 448 mb ram, have not changed them

i would try and work out why the computer is running out of memory after you close the game rather than worry about increasing swap file

virtual mem should be set too 1.5 x installed RAM
