Demos vs. Album versions

Good morning.. Supposed to have my first class in 10 minutes but just realized that the teacher of that subject threatened not to let me in and mark me as absent if I wouldn't have the book bought by this class and the next class doesn't start till 10:15 so here I am, at home till then.

After looking through some music I'd like to know if you have something interesting to share when it comes to comparison between the demo take of a song and the actual released version on the album. More specifically if you know of a demo you think is just as good ass the album version if not better. So post it here (both takes, please!) Youtube links prefered!

Regards, sAsONE!

I get up when i'm down
i can't swim but my soul won't drown
i do believe i've got flare
i got speed and i walk on air

cos god give me a soul
in your rock n' roll babe
cos god give me a soul
in your rock n' roll babe
and i get so high i just can't feel it
and i get so high i just can't feel it

in and out my brain
running through my veins
cos you're my sunshine
you're my rain

theres a light that shines on
shines on me
and it keeps me warm
it gave me peace
i must say
i cant sleep
cos the world wont wait

cos god give me a soul
in your rock n' roll babe
cos god give me a soul
in your rock n' roll babe
i can get so high i just can't feel it
i can get so high i just can't feel it

and i get so high i just can't feel it
and i get so high i just can't feel it
and i get so high i just can't feel it
and i get so high i just can't feel it

in and out my brain
running through my veins
cos you're my sunshine
you're my rain

You fall in, we fall down
There's no love in this shotgun town
What you believe is not fair
When you leave yeah the world won't care

The ghost that is your soul it leaves me cold babe
The ghost that is your soul it leaves me cold babe
Cos' you get so high you just don't feel it
Yeah you get so high you just can't feel it

In and out your brain, running through your veins
You got no sunshine, you got rain

You fall in, we fall down
There's no love in your shotgun town
When you believe it's not fair
When you leave you know the world won't care

The ghost that is your soul it leaves me cold babe
The ghost that is your soul it leaves me cold babe
Cos' you get so high you just don't feel it
yeah you get so high you just won't feel it
In and out your brain, running through your veins
You got no sunshine, you got rain

What you get so high you just can't feel it
What you get so high so you just can't feel it
Yeah you get so high you just can't feel it
Cos you get so high you just can't feel it

In and out your brain, running through your veins
You got no sunshine, you got rain

In my opinion the demo is just as good if not better, even lyrically-wise!

no sound @ work :P

Me, as I like raw guitar music, prefer often pre-realeases and old demo stuff over washed-up mass-compatible perfect sounds aswell!
Yeah I know what you mean. You still eventually get allergic to that when you yourself record and produce your own music as it's always hard to "settle" for the sound you have, you always wanna do something more which sometimes leads in overproducing which can be shit.

Sometimes you get the impression that "rock" bands to that so they can sell records to people that don't like rock music... kinda weird :P

A good example for this is "Rise Against", don't know if u know them... I still love their music, but the newer the records are, the more flat becomes the guitar sound...

Know what you mean!

no sound at school but i rather prefer demos over albums because most of the time it sounds more dirty
Usually when you talk about music, it goes way opposite of my opinion, so by fast thinking I guess album-versions are better.
demos, because they have more soul!
