it can be your et.exe keeps switching between the core0 & core 1, try one time in game to set et.exe affinty to core 0, then play and see if it works(if you quit the game the affinty will reset so ull have to set it again if you want to test)
task manager -> right click et.exe -> set affinity

Try to install older drivers than you have now, i had the same problem like you, but when i installed my 'old' drivers, everything has become better. It should help you.

got 1 cpu, 2 cpu, quad, dual core...nothing will change. U still got fps drops and u still lag like a crap when u're shooting or strafing..live with this sick problem. Need a pb update. Nothing more.

and ping is crazy on ycn servers like 150 and its < 80 on every other server :/

I had it aswell when I had enabled dual-core in nVidia controllpanel for games and ET ran on both cores. (Intel)

Turn off thread optimization in your nVidia drivers jew!
