sugestions for ram.

since my RAM is failing and keeps crashing my computer :[

i am now looking to buy new RAM which will give me good quality performance

I can spend around £40-45 max.

the most important part of RAM is the IC and you will never be told this by the actual manufacturer

Micron D9G** is the most desirable, ProMOS/Powerchip are also respected. Elpida are to be avoided along with other Micron chips

This information is pretty hard to come by though.

with 4 gb u will only be able to use 3.5, but it will still work =)

I had 4 gb ram with 512 mb Gfx card, and it showed 3.5 gb ram.

depents on mainboard supportment.. i've got 4GB of RAM, this is also shown on the bootscreen, altough in windows it only supports 3GB.. nothing more

.. but its the SLI channeled chipset that is supported thats why you could easily take 4 GB just to have the chipset support and not the 1GB
