since my RAM is failing and keeps crashing my computer :[
i am now looking to buy new RAM which will give me good quality performance
"Each memory slot can hold DDR2 PC2-6400,DDR2 PC2-5300,DDR2 PC2-8500 with a maximum of 2GB per slot."
I can spend around £40-45 max.

Micron D9G** is the most desirable, ProMOS/Powerchip are also respected. Elpida are to be avoided along with other Micron chips
This information is pretty hard to come by though.
with 4 gb u will only be able to use 3.5, but it will still work =)
DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS MAN.
I had 4 gb ram with 512 mb Gfx card, and it showed 3.5 gb ram.
.. but its the SLI channeled chipset that is supported thats why you could easily take 4 GB just to have the chipset support and not the 1GB
