so i got some new hardware and wanted to setup another PC with a nice 800gig (1 terrabyte) HDD. booting it for the first time from CD it showed the whole free space without partition. i set the first one up and wanted the other half to be the second. however while the second arranged the PC crashed and now it cant read the HDD anymore in the install... any ideas how to "reset a sATA" ??
check
But no need to make it bigger on a 1 TB HDD as MFT size is determined by % of the HDD space
Dude, MBR takes one sector. You're referring to the filesystem metadata.

i thought it was based on that stuff, just like memory etc
go to "disk management"
there you can remove and create new partitions.
vista doesn't but u can load drivers at install
(Yes i know ur drive already worked, but that was my problem :-|)
