QuoteIf this is successful, do you plan on releasing more browser games?

JC: If it is successful, we've tossed around the idea of taking the Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory game (which was actually always more popular than Q3A in the online space) and doing a similar treatment on it with the experience we've gained here. But no effort will be spent on that until we know whether Quake Live was a brilliant idea or if it was a dumb move.

QuoteThe Quake Live team is smaller. We're still not fully fleshed out [with] three teams that can work on three projects simultaneously. Even then, then you've got Doom, Quake, Wolf, Rage -- it's like there's still an odd franchise out. Plus Enemy Territory, which would lend itself with working with an external party.

Quote1UP: Were you happy with how Quake Wars turned out?

TW: It was more difficult than we would have liked, which is one of the reasons why we're building a Doom team -- to get the control back at id. Those games were, to be honest, a struggle to get done and out.
lol what will happen sooner: release of wolfenstein or release of etlive?
There seriously wouldnt be any point ..
why fix someone that ain't broken? just like they did with Q3, changed some colors here and there and he guys i think we made a new game lets call it qlive
It's more about the delivery and official support than the actual game.

idd, if that would happen it would mean that ET would be fully supported, which would be really kewl n stuffz!

ql will success so i believe.
haha would be great, not possible though :-)
1. Old
2. Even if QL is successful, I'm not sure if the same success would work with ET, since it's more of teamplay, tactics and generally longer supposed play time over one map. If it's played via browser, atleast I think, that it would make the game full of "5min players" who jump on server, do 3 mortar shots, wonders around a bit and quits because he have to continue office work.

QL in this case is more better for browsers because it actually is like that - jump in for few minutes of relaxing rounds of fragging and go back to work / porn watching.

Only positive note for the game would be no need of any big and hard to do installations (funny enough, but there still are people who can't install ET correctly, although they play it since test versions) and that could be useful for somekind of insta-LAN games on local net cafe's and shizzle like that.

3. Dunno about others, but I'd rather see Microsoft porting to browsers AoE2 rather than ID porting ET. ET as it is is not that dead that it should be revived as a browser game.
