Mando Diao are a rock band from Borlänge, Sweden. According to
the band, the name Mando Diao has no meaning at all, but rather
appeared to band member Björn Dixgard in a dream.
The roots of Mando Diao date back to 1995 when Björn Dixgard was
a member of a band called Butler. Band members came and went;
four years later, the remaining line-up chose to proceed more
seriously in their musical efforts.
My Own View: Mando Diao always was a nice band for me, but
only after "Give Me Fire" I understand how can someone call it
favorite. Its a great release. Now I would say you will see in my
top20 albums of 2009.

The Rakes are a four piece indie rock band hailing from London.
Releasing their debut album Capture/Release in 2005, The Rakes
were the talk of the Reading and Leeds Festival after joining
forces with Indie elites such as Bloc Party and Maximo Park in
the NME Tent.
They recently released their second album Ten New Messages
included the singles We Danced Together and The World Was A
Mess But His Hair Was Perfect.
My Own View: All I can say is: I expected more (based on
their early releases)...

There are at least two sets of Brakes. Joe Fadil, Keith Wilson,
John Brown and Bob Renny made up The Brakes, a powerpop / mod
group which released the album "For Why You Kicka My Donkey" on
the Magnet label in 1979. The currently popular Brakes are a 4-piece
band from Brighton, United Kingdom fronted by Eamon Hamilton,
formerly of British Sea Power. They formed in 2002.
Brakes were formed when Tom White (guitar) and Alex White (drums)
of The Electric Soft Parade saw Eamon Hamilton (vocals, guitar)
then of British Sea Power perform a solo gig supporting The Lonesome
Organist in Brighton.
My Own View: Quite good. It sounds a mixture of folk rock,
indie rock and garage rock for me. Almost every song on it could
be different genre.

sure about the links are good or reliable. At least they are surely
not viruses. All look good.
Btw, Red Light District Company.... top top band!!
1920s, 30s, neo-vaudeville, sinister cabaret, set in the future with dusty circus-hop, trip hop presented by the use of voice, accordian, vibraphone, guitar, bass, synthesziers, odd sounds, found percussion, trumpet, cello and chance happenings generally recorded upon first take and songs completed within a few hours from start to finish.
