Dr Manhattan? Watchmen?

Right guys, need some help from film buffs...

Who the hell is Dr Manhattan? I realise there is the film Watchmen coming out very soon but I've just been asked by a customer to add these videos to my blog for this....These aint real trailers imo, or are they?

1st one is this NBS Nightly News with Ted Philips, March 11th 1970

or even this : The Keene Act & YOU (1977)

Seriously I`ve got no idea wtf this film is all about...I`ve seen a Watchmen trailer but wtf have these videos to do with it?

I guess if Meez can't help me here then noone can....maybe ask cuttyp?

watchmen is like the best comic book ever, you should read it

and those 2 vids are some sort of teasers

my question was about how those videos are fitting in with the new release .... I've heard about the Dr M stuff but trying to understand why these vids are gonna help for the upcoming film itself...

Did you even check wikipedia or used google ? there sure is something about it on the internetz.
And yes Watchmen the movie is coming up very soon (this month if i'm right) and again about some supaheroez.
