TED Siftables

MIT grad student David Merrill demos Siftables -- cookie-sized, computerized tiles you can stack and shuffle in your hands. These future-toys can do math, play music, and talk to their friends, too. Is this the next thing in hands-on learning?

That is just amazing, I wish things like that would have existed when I was a kid. Well, I want those now too!

Can´t wait to get my hands on them some day.

Listening. Luv TED.

*So can it play ET?
Simple lego/domino stones, a few marbles and a set of watercolours are enough for kids and will develop their fantasy and abilitys way more than this imho. Though it´s a funny gadget.
Both are good, though the simpler the better in early ages.

I don´t think that small children should be hanging around these kinda gadgets nor PC´s. Well, make it like under 15-yo should do something else than play with computers all day long.

Now I went off topic, those blocks are cool was my point :)
