can't format and install XP?

I got my laptop which I was tired of using Windows Vista (rly shit)

So I backup'ed all my stuff and did lay the Windows XP CD in it, and booted from it. The case is that when I want to continue, It says there isn't any Hard Drive to install or format, and it just tells me to restart which I did - no changes.

I got a HP Pavilion dv6000 notebook if it helps

advices would be cool :> thx !

i would put money on it having a pointless raid configuration - so goto bios and turn off all things raid, then re-install xp.

also one other thing to keep your eye on is - if you have a large disk > 300mb windoz xp wont fully recognise it until sp2 has been applied

You'll need to look at the SATA settings in the bios, there are no inherant drivers for SATA on the XP Installation. There are usually three options on SATA settings, go for the middle one that isn't 'off'.

Will fix your problem.
