Microphone problem!!

Hello! i bought a new pc a week ago or something.

- Intel® Core™2 Duo E8400 (S775,3,0Ghz,1333Mhz,6Mb)
- Asus P5Q
- Asus ENGTX275/HTDI/896MD3

rest doenst matter for my problem i guess :D

I cant get my microphone to work.. really weird shit!
My mic works but the other ppl on ventrilo hear everything i hear (so echo and my keyboard sound) even had sqaush (pc pro) on teamviewer but he couldnt find the problem either.

i have tried alot of things to get it to work and so did squash but we havnt managed yet.

on the setup in ventrilo on the right hand side under the topic 'hardware input mixer' the thingy called 'Line' has only one option 'CD volume'.. this has to be Microphone i guess (thats what i have on my old pc)

the problem could be caused by something else.

Please Crossfire help me out xD

unmute mic / check sounds and other devices,
Simply buy a new mic.
Well im lying to you.

The problem youre having i had exactly the same a while back. It was to do with my keyboard interfering with my mic. However, that was USB.

Perhaps drivers are needed or drivers need changing, as for team viewer, that guy probably couldn't be bothered.

What drivers do you have, is it 3.5mm jack? or usb?

3.5 mm jack

Its stereo mix related, check advanced options at windows, make sure microphone is activated, not stereo mix.

E: ironically my mic has stopped working again.

you are not allowed to have over 50-60 % of you're PC's voice used, or mic will go crazy. Try lower PC voice
NetherlandseXceed had this also, play a bit with the directsound input stuff
who was the man ?

got to say you fixed it nicely after i broke it : D
