I just felt like promoting few documents by
Sam Dunn and as the title says, they are about metal music.
Metal: A Headbanger's Journey (2005)
Dunn goes in to metal deeper, starting from the origins of it, travelling throught the time and evolution of it, watching it from different aspects of the culture of metal music, everything between sex and norwegian church burners. Lots of big names give out their opinions and views about the culture and music, as do fans around the world.
Great documentary, entertaining but educational, I could recommend this to everyone, it may open your views on some level even if you aren´t in to metal.

Global Metal (2008)
Ok, we all know that metal scene is quite big and alive in and , but what about the rest of the world? Is there anything going on?
Dunn starts the journey from Brazil and takes us through Japan, India, China, Indonesia, Israel and United Arab Emirates. On this trip we meet fans and bands from these less know countries and they tell how metal has started / is starting in their country + some worldwide names telling about their experiences of performing in these, sometimes quite different, countries and cultures.
Lots of new stuff there, at least for me, kept me interested for the whole story, though I felt that it didn´t quite hit it to the top. But if you like metal, go for it, I am sure you will enjoy it, some great stories there!

Learned allot more from Global Metal, but I'm not into the genre's they like in those parts of the world...
Prefer the non-bs, not complicated straight forward stuff ;)
