1920x1080

Do you know an LCD monitor that can handle that resolution with the refresh rate of 75 Hz or higher?

why is hz so important?
Makes the game feel alot smoother.

No, but I do use a 1920x1080 22" monitor for gaming - http://www.ebuyer.com/product/160282. It runs at 60Hz and honestly I don't see the difference from my CRT running higher. The whole Hz thing is bullshit imo.
i agree with you on that.

dunno if there is much difference between 60 and 75 hz on tft, but 60 and 90 is a big difference
Parent
I used to strongly disagree, however since moving to windows7 the response from my 60hz 19" tft seems to have picked up 10fold so now I agree with you. XP IS SHIT

Comparing it to a CRT is another thing. On a TFT monitor, 60 Hz is good enough for everyday use, but it's just not smooth enough for gaming.

Good & moneysaving solution:
Just quit the game for 13 months and you won't give a shit about monitors :D

:D I don't really play games a lot either but just in case I decide to do so I'd rather have a decent monitor!

thats so not true beggin playing a fps game on a screen that handles 100+ hz and a lcd that only handles 75 is so much different..
Parent
yea if someone knows any LCD which can handle 1680x1050 @ 75 or higher pm me aswell
samsung 2233rz
Parent
hows that going for u, forgot to ask :D
Parent
it's not as good as CRT obviously and the wide screen needs some getting used to but otherwise it's playable :)
Parent
Is it actual 120 Hz or just displaying the same frame twice like some TVs do?
Parent
From what I read Dell 2209WA works fine for some people when pushed to 75 Hz.

Acer P244WB.
Apparently the producer made a mistake in the specification and it can't.

samsung or viewsonic should release a 24" 120hz lcd (thus it would have this native res) this year but i don't remember precisely
75hz here
asus vg24h

1920x1080 120Hz

e: no idea of release date :x
welll playing with 0 refresh rate and 75 is the same thing only makes difference if your monitor can handle 100+ refresh rate...
