Your lcd monitor buzz? - Solution!

I recently bought some new fans which made pc a lot quieter and discovered that my LCD monitor was making a little buzzing noise.

To get rid of it:

Turn your monitor brightness up to 100% on your monitor controls. Then to compensate reduce the brightness in your graphics card.

No more buzzing :)

Hehe true, yesterday my total PC was making a strange low buzzing sound which irritated me a lot, just had to turn on the music and leave it on till I went to bed, just to get rid of that noise, because if you're concentrating on that noise, you're going crazy :P

Only thing that made my LCD buzz was the power cable, no idea why, had it once and never again after :o (Samsung 225MW)

The backlight inverter creates noise when you turn down the brightness. If your monitor always buzzes, it's the psu.

Wouldn't recommend setting the brightness to 100% either (it decreases over time), and compensating for it via the graphics card's drivers is also a bad idea :P

Your graphics card has a range of 8 bits, so it transfers 256 steps per channel (Red, Green and Blue). Those steps combined give you 16.7 million colours. Whenever you make adjustments via the graphics card, you reduce the number of steps. As a result you lose tonal values, colours and decrease the contrast range.

interesting, i'll bare it in mind. The scale in CCC ranges from -100 to +100, the default being 0. I have changed mine to -25 to compensate. Will I realistically see any difference? I havn't noticed yet.

my monitor makes no sound @ all SAMSUNG SyncMaster T220 2ms ftw

pc doesn't make any sound either..!
