Duo = Gaming.
Quad = Multitasking.
duo's time are gone, quad have as much power as duo, and will be doubled not too far away
Q9550 by itself wins e8400, and the differences in money are for the q9550 considering it's gaming lifetime compare to e8400
and the c2q are still great quads no matter what
If he wants a new processor now, go for cheap and nice c2d or go for i7 platform.
Buyin c2q is just dumb when you see the perfomances and the prices...
take an E8400 instead of the q9950
take the 450watt corsair its totally enough costs 60,--
take 4870 graphicscard € 130,--
get corsair ram kit hell € 35,--
and goddamn DONT TAKE ASROCK
they have no support and warranty sucks
GET GIGABYTE. COSTS 10 euro more.
in march i paid € 620,-- and i got better stuff than your brother wtf crazy world
I see a discussion about the processor. Some say i need to buy a duo some say a quad and yet another says i5, i7 or phenomII. And next to that you say the others are dead. But can you give me a good explanation why I should choose for the processor you recommend?
Btw I read that quad is better then duo in everything if you have atleast 2.83GHz. If you have lower then 2.83GHz then the duo is better at gaming. As you can see I got a processor with 2.83GHz installed. Besides that, quad has more future and duo is about to die so I don't think it's a good idea to buy a duo.
Talking about the future, the i7 is THE future, the problem with that, is that it's still expensive so thats why I choose for a quad.
I replaced:
Grafische kaarten ATI Radeon HD4000
Sapphire HD4850 HDMI
1 x à € 99,-
with:
Grafische kaarten ATI Radeon HD4000
Sapphire HD4850 Vapor-X
1 x à € 115,-
Quad cores are good for video encoding or multitasks, actually there is only a few games who uses 4 cores.
And the next games will be build for i7 structure, not c2q.
So i would go for a core2duo E8400.
About your gfx, both are almost the same, only the cooling system is different.
