I'm back again with yet another problem. This time it's my soundcard. Eversince i got my new pc( like a year and a half ago) i've been using the integrated soundcard, altho i had bought a Creative Soundblaster X-Fi soundcard, i actually installed it last week(after i had formatted my pc). Since i hadn't played games in ages, i also hadn't plugged in my Sennheiser PC161 headset. Yesterday i finally thought i'll play some ET. For my surprise i couldn't get my headset to work :/
I plugged my headset in the front jacks(integrated soundcard jacks???) but no sound came in, or went out through my mic. I've got a Logitech X-530 speakers set and they were plugged in the Creative Soundblaster X-Fi jacks in the back. After i had plugged in my headset, the sound still came through the speakers, so therefor i thought i'd need to change my playback device from sound, but for my surprise there was no other driver there besides my Creative and my monitor(that has a integrated speaker). Also it didn't recognize my mic. I then unplugged my Logitech X-530 speakers from the back and plugged my headset in there, done that, my headset started working(read: the sound now came in through my headset, yet it still wouldn't recognize my mic). Since i was rushed into playing a war, i couldn't really find time to look into this any deeper, and the only way my mic worked, was that i turned the sensitivity to 0(so it'd be on all the time) and boosted up outbound but i was still too quiet for others to hear me. Ventrilo even popped up an error, but since im not home right now, i can't paste it here :/
So my question is, can i somehow get my front jacks to work with the Creative Soundblaster X-Fi soundcard? or do i need to keep plugging my headset in the back jacks, that's really an arse :/.
Special shoutout for the special boy, Eddo!

I guess you have faulty sound settings in Creative Control Panel and Windows
I bought a Y connector to have both my headset and speakers plugged in at the same time at the back.
