Add some and get I7 , np.
you can get a nice pc with i7 for about 800 euro
Parent
not really , take a look at the prices for a 920 (which is more then enough) and a decent msi/gigabyte mobo + a gfx out of the first 1/3
Parent
Starting with 2k € here.

Intel Core i7 920 4x2.67GHz So1366 BOX 231.9€ (d0 stepping is needed for overclocking)
MSI X58 Pro-E 165,5€
XFX HD 5850 1024MB 238,9€

~635€ =nearly highendpc

add psu, hd, case, LCD, ram = ends up pretty high :o
Parent
hd4890 is more then enough these days(hd5xxx is overprized)
ram=~80€ more then 3gb is useless, even with 64
lcd= ~200
case=~50 (who cares how it looks]

yeah should be a bit more like 1000 euro , still you can get a decent pc for that money
Parent
case is at least 100e and it depends A LOT , without a good case you are fucked in terms of cooling
Parent
it's not. i'm using an 6 yo case with nearly highend specs. it's all about the position of your cooling . if you once have a flow through you're case you wont need anything expensive.
hope you got my point , though i really think prizes in our countries are +-50€ atleast

i5 + p55 + hd5870
ah, now I know what ur gonna do with the peaches money!
ssshhh don't tell anyone:)
