why my avg is whining i have virus in this shit then?
so i deleted svchost.exe and my whole pc crashed, and i couldnt get it running.
I lost everything i had on my pc by that stupid action of AVG:D
you should get a propper virusscanner
Try using NOD32 as your AV.
In the meantime, clean out your spyware by using this:
http://seanza.com/downloads/spybotsd162.zip
If its in x:\WINDOWS\svchost.exe i am sure its trojan or even virus.
Could be a false positive though, as they do happen with random things. Sophos at work thinks that Adobe Download Manager is a virus! :(
too many files like cdkey-gen or fun virus get detected
delete it and go for Avast!
since Avast always was reliable @vista, i´ll also use it for XP soon

It will take your processes to 90% useage it freaking annoying.
AVG should get rid of it, otherwise download ESET NOD32 from isohunt or something like that.
Maybe you're infected with the taskmon.exe viruas too, check it in your processlist
SVhost is a host proccess for DLL files, so it can be infected (nimwits). It could be a dirty DLL, or it could be code injected into the original executable. Your easiest option is to re-install windows, however this isnt always an option, so you could try safemode, and replacing the corrupt files. Dont delete svhost without replacing them, it handles windows sound, DHCP, etc. So if you do, your fucked, and you wouldve been quicker re-installing windows.
You shouldnt come to crossfire looking for help, only a select few acctualy know what their talking about. The rest will just talk shit, they think they know PCs because they can write an ET configuration file (lol). Go to microsoft forums for support in future.
