Eventhough you got tons of ETTV slots now, shoutcasts everywhere, and a new fragmovie coming every 2 days, I get the feeling that the games back then were more professional...somehow. You always had your admins on the servers, CB channels were filled in the afternoon already instead of 30 mins after the game starts. Those officials were always kinda special and a real event, especially because you didn't have so many ETTV broadcasted matches. You only had the top games between the best teams that made them really interesting.
Another thing is you never really had problems with suspicious people. If there were good aimers they were mostly smart and knew how to play as well. You accepted them as better aimers than you are. But nowadays you got some ppl that are even more dumb than a rock, they can't run straight forward but they got godlike aiming. I'm not saying those ppl hack or anything, it's just so strange if you compare it to back then.

I'd even go back one step further when there was no ETTV at all, i used to "watch" IRC bots from games like poison vs ocr or pod vs helix.
Clan Booze developed a program called gamecast or something along those lines, i watched my first "pro" game using this, ocrana vs some other team on radar taking part in one of ingame's et-cups. Everything went fine for about 5 minutes, then the server crashed and i went back to IRC bots. :D
Activity was much higher back then and top clans ware more "professional" way less dropouts at ec/prem and when i think about it in oc as a whole.
There was no cheaters and like some1 already mention it laughed at cs players for playing in a game full of cheaters.(ofc it wasnt 100% clean but it somehow was not a problem like today not even 5% of todays prob)
But lets face it this old game still rocks and not many of us back then ever thought it would last so long and its not dead yet!

and pronedelay is a good thing, pronin was lame :PP
and haha.. ppl say people's attitudes are changed.. people maybe be callin each others cheaters nowdays but what we experienced in image was pretty cool aswell.. i mean we were 3rd league oc skill - premier after but we pretty much rolled ec teams time to time and we're always either proners, spammers or luckers. I mean only because we won some clan we deserved all that flame they gave? and that only because were not known.. ppl are same whining idiots like they used to be years ago, no difference there
and still play in personality team :p
