Couple days ago I was just looking up old c64 stuff on youtube to see what was posted about.. ran into some old c64 commercials (sooooo 80's ) but later on I ran into interviews with Rob Hubbard and Jeroen Tel and how they have some of their classic c64 songs performed by an orchestra. And then a little later ran into a clip of Jeroen Tel performing live at the waterfront in rotterdam (club) somewhere in 2005 or 2006.
Since I was pretty active on the c64 in my days as a musician and coder as well I was like "Wtf?!?! I live in rotterdam how the fuck did i miss this!!" :( :(
Anyway, for those who like the old c64 sid tunes (or keygen tunes for the teenagers amongst us :P) check this
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=REiB5sa1DyA
I luv the shit that starts at around 1:42 .. weird ass freaky techno-like stuff.
Theres tons more videos of him performing live at various places around europe, which are nice to watch. Or actually, just nice to listen cuz I dont like the way he performs, by just waving his hand to the melody line etc.. bit boring, but the tunes are nostalgic :)

from loekino's quotes btw
According to the rules there were tons of valid reasons to perm ban loekino but the rules were bend in his favor because he was one of the guys that was just very active and therefor others replying to him were active too. Because of the fact that the traffic was more appreciated than his behaviour was worth punishing, he got unbanned.
I thought that was unfair to other users and made it unclear for admins and users how the rules apply and how they were enforced.
I'm the kind of guy that likes transparancy without bullshit. You either have a rule (like the language-rule for instance) and apply the rules for it, or you simply skip the entire rule alltogether. I don't care which way it would be, but at least pick a lane, if you catch my drift.

we thought they'd never end!
omfg this is so awesome - great tunes packed to a few kilobits :$
2k was fucking hard to do. I had to strip so much of my assembly code down that runs the music and makes the sounds sound the way they do that I had to get rid of most of the code that makes it possible to create really nice sounds (better drums mostly) but I managed :)
Most sids are around 2.6 to 3kb.
The thing with sids was that we had to code our assembly language that run the music as efficient and small as possible, because the machine only had 64kb to deal with and that had to run everything so game-developers always wanted to cut massively on memory used by music and sound effects.
We have still one in our cellar :)
was just checking this yesterday when it randomly started playing in my head :D
