Surround system

My mother wants to buy a surround system for my dad , she went in a store and they recommended the Panasonic SC-PT460 ...

- is this any good ?
- in some other store in saw the SC-PT470 for 30€ more , but it has no usb connection ... so why more expensive ?
- are there any other systems you'd recommend for 300-400 € ?




P.S can i hook my ps3 up to these ( with hdmi ) ?

dunno , i personally don't trust any salesman. I research everything on the internet , but since i don't have any clue about sound things i'm asking you lot :)

doesnt really matter if u only have 400 and u have to buy everything with that, all those plastic thingys are pretty much the same^^
u should listen them in the store before buying to compare and then just pick the one which sounds the best

tbh I never liked those brands that make TVs, monitors, phones and all other stuff. Not saying that they are bad, but they are somehow "commercial". I'd go for some brands like Cambridge, Nad, Dali, Marantz etc....I think you need A/V receiver to connect PS3 on that.

But for 400€ u can hardly buy all components...that will sound very good
