Bored and setting up...

...my system since I got a spare display and I am bored. So, this is how it goes on w7, which I got for daily use and fooling around.

The thing I like most is that when I turn on the DTA tv-pic comes automatically on TV, no need for anything else, same goes for the other way when it is turned off. Now I just need a bigger TV :/

And when I want to get serious and play ET, I boot on XP and 2nd and 3rd display goes off. Have to use that integrated card on ET, HD4870 just crashes the PC on q3-engine, no idea why, but I am happy on this situation. Just got off phone with my mother, I am going to steal her 32" TV since she is buying a new one, sweet.

How are you running your screens etc, any interesting patents / Macgyver-stuff?

I guess mine has some probs with it combined to mobo, tried everything, it just wont work with it :(

Are the 4870 and 8800 working in SLI when you try it?

Haven´t tried it, can it even work since hd4870 has it´s own crossfire system for hooking them up? But I guess they wouldn´t work any way since other is old and integrated.

I always thought that the cards in SLI should be the same, but i can be mistaken ofcourse!

Oh, miss-read you. No, they are not working together, 8800 has been disabled earlier, I just put it on to get ET work with it since I didn´t find any other way.

Ah ok, You tried to reinstall drivers etc?

If I have got to this point, what would you guess :) Same thing on XP / Vista / W7, same with old, older, new, newest drivers, with or without CCC etc etc etc...

Hmm, then there's something wrong yes =D Can you still get a new HD4870? or you already had it too long now?

I guess I could, but how on earth could there be something wrong with it since it runs cod4/wolf/etqw/ofp2/etc etc perfectly. CBA to send it away and wait for new one, I got a stable fps on ET atm so I don´t need it to work anymore :)

Hmm, thats indeed strange yes, I also had the same before that my gfx wouldn't run ET but any other game was np. Format fixxed it for me =D but thats indeed pointless to do if your ET works this way.
