IW fucked MW2 up. The only way to react is to cancel preorders. I did. Fuck petitions they wont do shit. It's like no lan in SC2 but 10 times worse. If they lose 50 percent preorders they might reconsider their decision.

Cancelling Pre-orders will have the biggest affects, but that don't mean that you shouldnt sign the petitions too:

Numbers count for everything to the cheifs at the top, if they are big enough that they see their profits growing, they may turn, and the only way to do that is to show them just how big the numbers are in every way
don't you get it?
they never did!!!
the competitive scene has always had to do its own modding and coding, developers don't get paid for making a game that people enjoy and keep playing - they make games that you buy and play for a month then buy another.
Until there's a business model that encourages competitive gaming then they'll be no interest from developers and publishers.
Personally I can't see why they don't encourage it, they could do the server-hosting themselves and encourage people to join large clans have have some form of match-making system so that the average person could enjoy the thrill of a scrim which most of the public haven't!
Just hope I can get a job in games development - will change that balance so games are playable more than profitable.
i expect they do give consideration but it wont be a priority
personally i think they just have to find a way of making money from the competitive scene - sponsored teams and matches perhaps, advertising in server names or load up times, charging people for a dedicated server hosted by them in a professional environement (so u don't have to queue for matches), perhaps charging a small fee to register as a clan in their leagues/cups and tournaments (this would also help stop 2 week project fail clans).
Quake Live?
Perhaps ID aren't gaining much from it, but with all this publicity, they surely can get break even if you ask me. Not sure though!
not a new idea/plot etc.... just same old stuff gain
