Vent + ET (and pb)

Since ive been having unplayable lag with pb on, ive been monitoring my processes during ET games on pb servers. Appearantly ET takes about 40-50% of my processor, pb 20-35% and vent 10-20% and everytime it gets up to or near 100% the lag starts.

Since i cant help ET or pb for now, my question basically is this: Are there any settings that make vent less processor demanding? I tried putting priority lower but talking doesnt really work when i do that.

Any help is welcome!

only got 1gig, but considering its ET we are talking about here, it should be plenty :o

for ET yes but we are also talking about pb 20-35% and vent 10-20% when its at 100% it cant calculate everything and it gets gauged up, but better pc or find what is most active during the lag and close it

e: better pc is better

Maybe try a new case fan (or clean the current one) or the cheap way place a normal ventilator near your case and aim it to the fan :D

Try running them on diffrent cores, if you got a dualcore processor. Also try to set the punkbuster process to a higher priority, it helped me to reduce the lag a bit. Otherwise you still got the option to play Guild Wars :p!

i have it on different cores and sometimes its ok and sometimes not just good

Ye I get these 2 sec freeze's every now and then eigher, but it was worse when I didn't change priority and core's. Punkbuster is a joke anyway's. I've never lagged that much before, but it has really gotten worse since 2k8.
