Healing wave is much more effective offensively than as a stand alone heal. Ulti entangle and fuck dem up with auto attack. Okay maybe he's a bit support but he's nowhere near the support of pollywog, glacius, nymphora etc.
Ulti is one of, if not the, best support skill in game. Heal is support only in good games (good players won't go near a low-hp target inside his own creepwave with Demented Shaman around). Dot/Slow is offensive/defensive. Arcane Hide is amazing support.
If you can stack images then demented shaman can be very effective offensively. Paired with Ophelia healing wave will be doing a shit ton of damage. I'm saying Demented Shaman isn't a one dimensional support hero as you seem to make out.
