I wouldnt use win 7 for ET for now. Wait a couple of months till all the bugs have been fixed and all vendors released updated drivers.

Been running 4 machines with win 7.0 for a week now and most of them have little annoying bugs which for now arent fixable without new drivers. (im talking about retarded shit like TFT monitors being detected as 4:3 and HP replying to a mail of mine saying that eventhough win 7.0 beta has been out for 6 months, they only expect their new win 7.0 drivers @ Q1 2010 ...

I do think its a great improvement for desktop apps atm, I could find most features I was used at in winXP, just shit driver support atm and like vista asking permission 24/7. I can see people getting used so much to those permission boxes they will click on them without even reading what they are accepting.
use powerstrip for the 4:3 thingy :P
custom resolutions could fix it

already tried powerstrip, didnt work :'( I havent read much on win 7.0 yet, but afaik it uses some sort of scaling which the latest nvidia drivers already allow to disable. Sadly those pcs are running onboard intel vid cards. Its weird cause they are 4 identical pc's and only two of them have the scaling problem, though they are connected with a different (longer) wire. Thats their only difference, though i fail to see how the cable could have anything to do with it.

You turn all that shit off! If your downloading dodgy files to begin with then you deserve a virus!

btw please get lightning to update his Minimizer to be compat with win7 x64 it only works sometimes!

dont have any problems u wrote up here

did you try vista drivers? So far all drivers worked great from vista on win7, for my laptop for example there werent any win7 drivers yet. Just found all win vista x64 drivers and no problem. Also if you install them run in win vista compat mode. And UAC etc, just turn it off.

Im not complaining. I had a lot of software which the retailer couldn't guarantee to work on win 7.0 but 95% of the things are working great, just a few buggy things. In the end it all depends on how well your software is written, if you got a sloppy coder writing straight to memory its bound to fail on win 7.0.

Also, I just read a lot of journals complaining about win 7.0 + ET :)

never buy a os before a sp is released
install driver, the default driver suxs
mostly if something doesnt work the way it should. Its most of the time user error or not enough knowledge. Win 7 + ET just works good.
