poor muslims, they ar always getting agressive when their religion is getting attacked.
Own opinion has just no place in this political ideology of war and conquest.
So how do you now which story is false, and which is true? :D
Atheists go crazy if you imply that there exists forces that can't be explained by science, or if you start asking questions about where the patterns and systems(aka laws of physics, etc) everything seems to follow comes from(or to be more precise, if you claim that these patterns and systems comes from God). Christians go crazy if you claim that Jesus ain't Messiah. Muslims go crazy if you try to bring shame upon their ideal, Muhammad.
My point is; no matter what you believe (even if you believe that there is nothing at all) you are taking a giant leap of faith. And you DO build your life around the assumption this "fairytale" gives you.
As an atheist I definitely promise not to go crazy if someone presents a flaw in my belief.
Neither do I mind answering any question, regarding physics or philosophy, as long as the one asking is actually going to listen to the answer. Often this isn't the case - the person may regard their brilliant question "Where did the universe come from, then?" as a 'checkmate' to begin with, and ignore the answer
PS: Yeah this is an old journal, just clicked this on Gambit's profile lol
Good to hear you won't flip out m8, and as a christian i promise i won't flip out either, and there are plenty of muslims who doesn't flip out either. Yes, there might be fewer zealous atheists than muslims, but that's mostly due to the nature of the (lack of) belief.
To an atheist few things are holy. Muslims have dozens of things you just don't fuck with, and when these things are being fucked with, i do to some degree understand their reaction. I guess you would react to an attack of what the western world keeps as a key dogma; the freedom of speech. It's the same thing!
And i love answering questions when i know my answers will be considered, people showing interest is a good thing!
One of the problems with these religious debates is that every side seeks to "win", or even convert the other(s) to their own faith, when what they should be doing is to try to understand each other. But this is very hard, since it's impossible to know who's right and who's wrong, and everyone wants the others to "stop living a lie". :S

You have to consider the social background of most muslism. The majority of the muslims are living in poorer condititions than atheist or christians. Imo there are more fanatics on the muslim sides because of their economic and social situation. Christians living in Europe and America can be profoundly religic but they don't have anything to die for. They're living in a comfortable situation, whereas muslimcountrys are getting invaded by globalcorporations coming from the richer parts of the world (read christian) who carry christian values with them. Muslim countries are attacked and controlled by the US governement (who still is christian), and our constant critics on their values of life, we've got to admit that we are looking down on them and they can't doing anything against it. Then again should we accept and respect their values eventhough in some countries women are mistreated, and people are being oppressed and they're using the islam as an excuse.
Oh yeah, most of the atheist europeans forget that they carry alot of christian values with them transmitted by society/parents/history and this makes it difficult to understand other cultures, even if we disregard personal religions.
also the real problem of religion are the people making profit of it and to change the true meaning. I don't have any problems with religion at all but when it's used to control people to do as someone/something tells them to do without rational thinking behind it or critic analysis there is something wrong. (I forget there are more illiterate muslims than illiterate christians, so they are more influencable (?) than christian (knowledge is power))
meh, this are just some of the thoughts that came through my mind when reading your comments, I hope you don't have any problems understanding it as my english and structure aren't perfect (structure, what structure?).
Conflicts based on religion such as the Dschihad / Jihad are bullshit anyway. The whole discussion about religion is patethic as religion more and more loses its importance in the modern society.
It loses importance to the Western World and maybe to the Far East, but it's growing stronger and stronger for the Middle East. You can't deny that fact.
They're using religion and the whole Jihad to legitimate their terrorism. I don't really think the belive in Alah has grown stronger tbh. Even Moslems start to drop their traditions.
I suppose if he wanted to lower himself to her level he could have mentioned Italy's own issues with paedophilia, though it is not technically paedophilia, anyway; the church and Roman empire embraced it to an extent.
E: I'D HIT HER!!

ps: u mean fuck islam, right? :)
