Searching a Al Pacino Movie

So, here is the story:

The guy tries to join a government organization, pretty similar to CIA (maybe it even is CIA). He likes a girl with which he goes to the local disco. The girl and he himself are being tortured for several weeks, but when they told him they are gonna kill that woman now, if he doesn't tell them who his mentor is, so he did.....

The mentor dies at the end of the movie by several police shoots

PS. I know the whole plot of that movie quite well, but I can't be arsed to explain it any further!

please tell me which movie that is, because I would like to watch it as soon possible : )

Just go through all his films on IMDB be a lot easier than everyone else trying to guess what it is.
