There are alot of different windows 7 versions (home premium ultimate...). there is x64 x86.. I don't understand all that shizzle so can someone pls tell me exactly wich "version" I need :)!

x86 is for 32 bit processors but will work on a 64 bit processor as well
kinda your choice but 64 is probably the better choice (although a few things dont work on x64 xp i dont know if the support for x64 w7 is better or not!)

@OP if you're using x64 you'd have full potential with your RAM then!
check @ system you will see either 32 or 64 bits so take that one

Its like this. The other versions then home premium have extra features. Things like the whole windows media center (video foto music center etc) But also things like XPmodus and data encryption stuff like that. As you can see in the links above.
Now you only have to ask youself do i need all these features ? and do i wanna pay more for features im probably not gonna use (if your gonna buy win7 that is)
Otherwise try to find an OEM version of win7 and your all done couse it wont mather

But get overclocking your i7, did you buy a decent cooler?
