Win 7 + nvidia

Hello!

Do you have any problem with gfcard settings at Windows 7? (maybe its a nvidia problem...)
I could use 2560x1680 and high hz at windows XP, but with 7 i can only use max 75hz and 1280x1024...(could use 120hz before..)

Any idea? Haven't tried the new beta drivers from nvidia, but i guess i will have the same "problem" again since the fix list doesn't have any reference to this problem.

!

Using windows 7 ultimate 64bits with Nvidia 9600gt. No problem with Ati drivers (i have a onbard HD 3200 or something)

I had some problems with nvidia + windows 7 aswell. I did an update of the drivers and now everything works fine. Maybe reinstall them?
tried, didn't work. Anyway i'm going to reinstall windows 7 and download new drivers for everything. Maybe it will work...

in windows 7 you have to
1. remove 1 pin in the vga cable to use more than 85hz on CRT
2. install the .inf driver for your monitor(but 1st modify it to be accepted by x64 OS)
only then you get the resolution you want
Remove 1 pin? LOl? That sounds dangerous tbh xD

About the monitor, it's pretty old... can't even find anything at internet xD

since win7 release they forced the resolution&rate list to be taken from internal monitor memory called edid and by removing the pin you just remove the interface between the edid and your system not damaging anything. So if you want high refresh rates/custom resolutions - either remove pin or use xp/vista where you can override edid by unticking "Hide modes that my monitor cant display" or smth

as for .inf file - try searching better since depending on gfx drivers windows might not allow you to play certain games like cod4(sometimes et aswell) on higher refresh rates than 85hz and non-standart resolutions

:'( damn motherfuckers... Thanks for your reply, helped.

Gonna try to figure out the .inf thing...

i've had problems installing drivers, tho mate of mine (pro in windows shit) helped me to install through msn's thingie (when he can control my PC through it) so yeah everything wen't better than expected

tho i didnt have any problems installing it on dads laptop so yeah dunno
It works perfectly here. I don't even mind playing with 85hz... The thing is: i used to unlock hz at windows XP so i could get higher resolutions (moviemaking purposes), but nothing happens if i unlock hz at w7

use powerstrip!:D

As far i saw at forum answer, nothing works (read ANY hz forcer / rivatuner/powerstrip / anything).
