MTU settings on Router

I set my MTU settings to 1500 manual 2 weeks ago so I could get open NAT on xbox live. Then I played W:ET and my fps dropped to 60-70 on most maps from stable 125. Then I turned it back to Auto and it jumped up to 125 fps again. What does MTU actually do, and why does it affect performance in W:ET?

While we're at it, for some reason I got to press f to pick up medipacks and dropped guns on every server. Whats the command for this to go automatic?

cg_autoactivate 1

if it's buggy just do 0 then 1 and it should work

i dont know what it actually does. but had the same. changed it to 1492 (which is dependent on your provider) and my lags are totally gone.
