Hey there,I just was wondering,that how you feel about gaming industry today?
I was having a tough about future games,yes they look amazing on graphical side,but they usually lack of story,or the game play is really bad.
So I amused to know your all time favorite games of 3 different category ; RTS , FPS , RPG
My favorite top 5 in RTS is :
1) The one and only C&C.- Had many fun hours with my friends playing it in network.I think that I haven't lost still the nostalgia for it,tho unlucky about the failure of Tiberium wars and C&C 3
2) Dune / AoE -the same for these,many hours of fun and memories,but no so adrenaline full like C&C.
3) Stronghold - The game was superb,even SP was great and interesting.
New odds made this game very popular.Breaking down walls and manning them with old war machinery,just classic.
4) Warcraft - This game speaks of itself.
5) Company of Heroes - A new type of RTS game,but it gave me some time to be hooked,some nice memories it was actually the 1 game I wasn't disapointet.
My favorite FPS top 5
1) Duke - It is the game what brought me here.It is the Godfather of all FPS games.I will never forget the moments I spent playing it.
2) Quake 2 - A game what I finished about 20 times because it was unique at hes own way.
3) Doom and all the old collections - It gave me some scary moments and including some fun.
4) RTCW and all the collections - This was the first game what I took in a serious level,my first online game I ever played.
5) RTCW: ET - The game that I still play.
MY top RPG games
1) Resident Evil all the collections - Just best horror zombie type game I ever played. Godpless CAPCOM
2) Diablo 1,2 - Some nice moments and hours I spent ( hope the 3rd part will be a success )
3) Final Fantasy 7,8,10,11 - The fans of this game know what I am talking about,cool in game vids amazing story and fantastic combat system.
4) Silent Hill - A resident evil type game,but with different aspect,a cool game.
5) Don't know if it will fit here,but I will count it also as RPG it is ofc the Grand Theft Auto. All the series,but the best where GTA 2 and GTA 3.

We're all hanging on to ET and waiting for someone to save it, but when someone tries and helps people think omg no it will ruin it. Well I think the game has alreayd outshun it's time.
Plus ET2 is in the works.
This is unacceptable. Let's organize a riot against the shittyness of new games, ok? We can burn cars and stuff
More people play it, so developers are forced to make easy games[i like to cry whole night because i cant kill the boss ]... Casual gamers are killing us, the pr0s :P
nothing worthwhile has come out since like 2002
developers want to make their games look good so people buy it and it seems to work most of the time.
One of the major problem is that developers are always trying or lets say because of the huge, profitable market, they are forced to attract new customers, even those who are not necessarily a fan of the genre.
Leaving the real gamers unsatisfied, as we rather care about decent gameplay and a nice story.

If we speak about game genres i like it will be FPS&RPG...
Overall every BioWare RPG is great game... Icewind Dale, Baldurs Gate, Fallout, NwN, Dragon Age, Mass Effect... they are just perfect example of how RPG should be done...
I always enjoyed more fast peaced shooters, like quake or UT, however the best shooter i played is probably Max Payne, even if its TPP...
Duke Nukem is indeed very fun and I loved it... but considering Quake 1 was published the same year and was so much better in every way (except the main character and his sayings) Also Quake 1 is so much better than Quake 2 :-/
@ your RTS games - no comment because of not mentioning StarCraft
Just started playing Dragon Age : Origins decent game! Haven't played something like it for quite some time.
Been playing DiRT2 online aswell another genre of games I never really play, I really dont like newer fps games anymore.

RTCW certainly..
after that one of the best FPS imo is AvP2(SP+MP) - not the most sucessful, but definitely don't know any pure FPS with more variety.
not to forget about serious sam:D:D:D:D
best RPG for me is 'Septerra Core', stunning graphic back then and an awsome story. Plus the combat system was neat:D
Just followed by the fallout series - YES, I DO like the 3rd one aswell.
And if it wouldn't have been that heavily bugged I'd say Oblivion is one hell of a game aswell, not only when it comes down to looks, but what so ever I rather put the gothic series as #3.
what should i say...I'm awful at RTS games:P
Still I think I spent the most of the time (if playing RTSs) with the C&C series...
Just after that Knight Shift and Spellforce(yes - those are rather RTS than RPG imo:p)

Just the regular, red alert, age of empires and early warcrafts rate them the same

only really played ET so short list (tried cod2 pubs etc but didnt like the type of game)

Put final fantasy 9 above 7 due to the fact that 7 just got way too easy once you got an all materia lvl 5 and sold it.(played 8 but didnt like it as much as these games to put it in)
Ive spend ages and ages on the fallout games playing it in a different way every singel time I started a new game and it's still awesome. Still love to aim for the eyes and see their brains fly around.
Morrowind for me the best game in the elderscroll series so far, played it a couple of times, still a bit buggy but overal one of the best games ever made imo
edit: as mentioned above the new games are just too much about graphics and suck in gameplay/storyline :(
