I am such a genious!

Lots of stuff has gone *swish* *swash* through my head lately, so I needed something to shut the voices. And I accidentally whole ET!


There has been a big debate on 5on5 or 6on6 -gameplay lately, at some point I figured it out!

Teams start 6on6, first one who dies / selfkills stays dead for the next spawn! And on the next spawn same thing happens, the dead guy jumps in and later last dead/sk´ed guy stays out for a spawn.

If nobody dies/sk´s, dead guy just has to wait longer.

It might bring some new action to the game, force some new ideas to the gameplay and tactics. And! It works on 7,8... players too, just longer waiting times.


Any thoughts, ideas, flame? I have no idea how to force it via the server/configs, need a nerd for that part.

No, he can´t jump in until the next guy dies. As I said, no idea how to force this.

With some fairplay it could be testable already, people just have to decide who has to SK to the spawn :) Taking turns maybe, but that would kinda ruin the idea.

EDIT: Oh, I just realized what you ment. Well, I wouldn´t mind waiting few seconds.

I got no problems with it, but maybe to kick something new out of the gameplay and the idea how to play the game instead of ruining it with some stupid and useless mod´s which will never ever be ready / work.

I actually like the idea. It would bring some interesting dilemma's in certain cases.

One of the engi's is dead and is waiting for a respawn, who selfkills?

Another idea I thought of someday : If a player selfkills later than 5 seconds before his own spawntime his respawn time gets lengthened with 20 seconds or something, this way the "RUSH DO DAMAGE SELFKILL" tactics would be weakened and more tactical play would come into hand.

well basically i like the idea but somehow it would get even more complex and not that much more tactical..
you could tactically use special persons in the team and let somebody die on purpose for some obj, but if e.g. the engi dies in a tankrush, someone else has to sk asap...
i guess that idea would require longer maptimes, make it easier to defend but maybe we should give it a try

i mean its everything but a cslike "play your tactics " game...
tactics in et is just the basic but all in all you decide for the moment...
and maybe you remember when you started with et back in the days, it took months to figure out every little helpful shizzle in the game since it got a lot of things to learn...
in most of the games there are a handfull of stuff to learn and everything else is pracc, but et is a whole science :D

On this point the game is so full of idiots that I think it would be better to reduce some of them :)

But seriously, this might just add too much lotto-factor to the game, not sure if that is something we want...
