Oke. I'd like to buy a dvd for my parents but I want to be sure that it will be possible to watch downloaded movies and recorded @ dvd. Any info which model can/can't do that? I saw pretty cheap Manta dvd 046 Prince 4 and Manta dvd 058 Emperor 2 hdmi u - any info about those?

The DVD players from Aldi are supposed to be quite good! They can read basically everything.

And no, that's not a joke. Interestingly enough many expensive DVD players are rubbish when it comes to playing non-standard formats.

Aslong as the DVD player can play DVD-R's then you can watch anything that you've downloaded on it, theres many free programs which convert .avi and other popular vid files to a dvd file then you just burn that and you're ready :)

Will find the exact model, bought it new earlier this year, it's quite shit for playing movies, but on USB stick it's usually fine
